Ok, this was suggested over on the Infinity forums and I thought it was a pretty damn good idea so I post it here too!

Since the Split Box deals often result in me sitting here with a load of Light Infantry no-one's bothered about (especially where the Chasseur, Mobile Brigada and Asura are concerned!) there is a chance they could be put to much better use ie. in a custom-built starter!
So, if y'all had a choice of what could appear in a starter of your own devising, so long as it contains 3 LI, what would you like to see...?

I can't think of a starter right now, but I do think they need to drop the Chasseur from the primary Ariadnan starter into the Merovingian set or make him available as a blister.

Here's a good question for Ariadna players then:
If the Chasseur could be dropped from the Ariadna starter, what would you replace him with?

That's easy!

Either the Scout with Ojotnik(as in the one with the pose where he's dodging) or the sniper rifle.

Could also add the Tank Hunter with Autocannon.

The scout is a very good suggestion, that's for sure!
I also think it's a pretty cool model

Honestly, I think that as they release more Sectorials--the normal starters are going to get to be a bit extraneous.

That's not to say they don't have their place, but when you look at some cases like the Asura with Multi Rifle or the Chasseur model I mentioned--it becomes a case of they'll only sell to people who want/need that one model and if they don't want to do a split box order from someone like you.

If I were to do a Starter set from the ground-up though, here is what I would do for the rumored(read: pretty much confirmed) Greek Sectorial, as an example.

A box of Myrmidons, with double options for Boarding Shotguns/Combi Rifles(in case you want to field a set of one OR the other rather than be forced to mix and match. It'd also allow you to not have to use the sword arms if you don't want to).
A Myrmidon Officer
Myrmidon Spitfire.

As it stands right now? You can actually make a Myrmidon Hacker, if you really want to field one out of the bits from the Myrmidon box. I'm waiting for my Myrmidon Officer to arrive so that I can do it (I need the Combi Rifle arm from her/him for the model), but all you need to do is use the arm which is shown as matched with the chain rifle guy.

Cut the sword off and file down where it was, a bit of refitting and gap filling and you can easily have it appear that he is looking at a hacking device mounted to his arm.

How much would this army cost?

Sure can! Thanks to the Zouave appearing in the Merovingian box the price will not change at all!

About the Morat Starter Pack...

I don't think they will put a Daturazi in it. Now all warbands and fireteams come in multipart boxes, so they will probably release a 4 Daturazi box one of these days, also, 4 daturazi are very common in CA lists.

So, here is my bet:

3 Morat Vanguard Infantry (All starters have the three line infantry)
1 Kurgat MK12 (Most of the starter come with an special light infantry)
1 Zerat Hacker (Most of the starter come with a skirmisher)
1 Suryat Multi Rifle (Most of the starter packs include a heavy infantry suitable for being the Lt.)

IMHO Morats look much better with a helmet on.

Good mix of units with some special abilities tossed in. You can repurpose the Shrouded from the Shasvastii box, I'm guessing since it's already available on it's own it's not as popular.

I don't know if this would sell any better, but certainly lower in points. Assuming that you use the Morats for the Morat starter and can include the Daturzi from the CA starter.

I already posted these on the infinity boards, but wanted to make sure the Dakka crew saw them as you're inquiring about interest....

I had drawn up some 150pt lists a while back, most of these are technically sectorials, but can easily be played normally without worry of linked team rules..
As for the lists, I didn't like putting LTs in potential linked teams but it was unavoidable at this point level (if you even bother using linked teams at this point).
In addition, I tried to keep in mind the popularity of certain models with split boxing and tried to work around them.

This can easily be done, and yeah, they have a great theme!

Yu-Jing seems like a good army to include, with pan-ocieana

Out of those the JSA one could likely be the better deal since almost all of it comes from a box, and their prices are a bit easier to play with.

Not sure about the Merovingienne one. It leaves the buyer with a shotgun/ADHL Loup-Garou, and I think in the long term most would rather have a Viral Rifle one if they're only getting one...

But the shotgun wielder looks better than the viral rifle wielders =P
