Ichor-Dripping Talos Monstrosity

Welcome to the Off Topic Chat thread for Commoran Nights - a Dark Eldar centric RPG.
To participate in the story, please go to this thread.

Asdrubael Vect, Archon of the Black Heart has made an announcement.
The Kabal of the Blue Shadow, a formerly high ranking Kabal foolishly attempted a Coup d'état, but failed, so naturally Vect wiped them out to the man, not a single creature that was affiliated with the Blue Shadow remains living within Commorragh, and there's a bounty on the head of any survivors that managed to flee the Dark City in time.
Vect has offered the entire estate and holdings of the Blue Shadow (primarily, 5 Towers in High Commoragh, including fleets of skimmers and aircraft, as well as two slave workshops in the under city. and more.) in exchange for an ancient artefact that was stolen from him by the Archon of the Blue Shadow as he escaped the failed Coup, and the head of said Archon.

The first step is of course, character creation. Most anything is welcome, you can be a minor noble vying for power, an assassin in the employ of a great house looking to expand its holdings, a street runner looking to make a name for himself, or a slave working on their masters whim. Just remember, whatever you create, the ultimate goal of this game, is to get the expansive holdings in High Commoragh that formerly belonged to the Kabal of the Blue Shadow.

Drychera (Active)
Spoiler:
Name: Drychera
Race: Dark Eldar ( Haemonculi Ancient )
Gender: Female
Age: Close to 10,000 years.
Role: The Mistress of Flesh. ( Leads the ships and forces of the Coven of the Plagued Rat. )
Affiliation: Coven of the Plagued Rat
Appearance: Drychera is a tall, pale creature, with skin like smooth, living wood and a strange internal blue glow. Covered in thick bony plates with the appearance of old bark, she has large branch like protruberances coming from her back and her legs split into a writhing mass of root-like tentacles.
Prefering to 'walk' naked, bar the plate growing from her skin.

Background: Short: Drychera leads the Coven of the Plagued Rat from within the Thaxar Rift, researching ever more eccentric technologies.
Is in Commoragh to get tech and mandrakes.

Long: Originally born to Eldar Nobility, one of the first children birthed after the fall within the pseudo space of Commoragh. While she grew, the Eldar were still reeling from the catastrophic events that created the Eye of Terror, and Commoragh was still forming into the Dark City it is today, her parents were very much set in the Old Ways.

While she was raised under the old ways, her greatest pleasures as a youngling involved stalking through the magnificent gardens of her families holdings, catching and torturing the rats and creatures that invested the city. She eventually started experimenting on them, stitching together her first monstrosities as a young woman. As things in the Dark City began to change, as the Dark Eldar began to form, She eventually became disillusioned by the 'Old Guard', joining one of the fledgling Flesh Cults and in turn becoming one of the first of what would become the Haemonculi. Moving in the shadows, learning from her kin and slowly perfecting her craft.

Continuing her love of creating abominations from rats, she experimented with combining the rodents with those unfortunate enough to cross her path, eventually perfecting genetic manipulation techniques to change her minions from Eldar or Man into a stooped man-rat creature. Decades after leaving, she returned to her families towers, leaving the shadows she had hidden in for so long, with an army of ratmen at her command. She swept the estate, claiming her heritage and giving her former family the option to either join her willingly as a fleshworker, or join her regardless as a member of her vermin forces.

For a time she was content, she had ample wealth and power, and a constant stream of subjects to experiment on. She set up magnificent laboratories among the trees and gardens she'd loved as a child, but eventually she grew bored and ultimately, turned on her own flesh, combining herself with the trees she found so glorious for so long, locking herself away until she felt she'd achieved perfection, combining as much of herself with the trees, as she did the trees to herself.

The addition of the plant like material to her flesh further warped her mind. She became restless, combining flesh and wood with those she thought slighted her to create Grotesques, and living trees with which she communes. Eventually, the trees became a Haemonculi in their own right, doing work alongside their mistress. Starting to make raids on realspace, where she first saw the Dark Eldars ancient Craftworld kin, and their psychic might.

Becoming obsessed with these eldritch powers yet knowing it was the one thing she could not pursue within Commoragh, she commisioned shipwrights to build massive engines and make her towers space worthy, turning her estates into 5 massive starships which left the dark city and took up residence in the Thaxar Rift. In their first centuries within the rift the Coven of the Plagued Rat spent hunting and studying human and eldar psykers, learning how their minds work, learning how their powers work. Then Drychera stumbled on to an impressive find. The site of a long finished battle between a craftworld and some unknown foe, but the prize was the burnt out hulk of the Craftworld. From this she was able to claim large amounts of Eldar psychic technology, including the iron statue of khaine from its heart.

The Coven now has a certain mastery over psyker slaves and their power, as well as the ability to awaken the stolen Avatar by sacrificing Eldar souls to its dark shell. Yet Drycheras madness drives her ever forward, hunting for more knowledge and more power.

She has returned to Commoragh after hearing of Vects offers through her network of spies, to gain greater power and regain workshops and holdings in High Commoragh.
As usual when staying in the Dark City she currently staying in the guest rooms at the Tower of Flesh.
Personality: Drychera still holds herself with the nobility of her upbringing, yet coloured by the madness of the millenia she's spent fused with the trees in her flagship.
She is high born, as old as they come within the Dark City and a Haemonculi of high standing, and expects to be treated with the fear and respect these legacies deserve, and is quick to introduce those who cross her to her trees.

Weapon(s) of choice: An elegant long barreled stinger pistol, a liquifer gun with a barrel of fluted glass and mentally activated power weave in the living armour of her hands.

Motivation: To gain the slave shops of the Blue Shadow, and to gain the towers in High Commoragh to expand her fleet of city-ships.

Instead of killing the upstart, the other riders welcomed him as one of their own upon seeing his skill. From there, Tal would be introduced to the thrill of battle and the high-speed kill. Appearance: A very haggard old warrior Zachariah still maintains an air of grace that very few in the Galaxy can rival. Zachariahs long combat experience has left him with many scars all over his body.
Background: Ten thousand years ago Zachariah was an assault marine of the Dark Angels legion stationed on Caliban. When Luther declared his intention of abandoning Lion, Zachariah felt whole for the first time in his life. His joy was short lived as the remaining Dark Angels returned with war and destruction on his mind. Fierce battle erupted and Zachariah proved his worth many times over. Upon the destruction of Caliban Zachariah was cast into the warp where he was lost for over three thousand years. Upon his reemergence to reality he managed to track down a fellow fallen. From this comrade he learned of the Hunt that the Dark Angels were making. He knew that if they chased him down with the zeal the Dark Angels showed he would have no chance of continued existence. However fate struck a year to the day he emerged from the warp, he was captured by Dark Eldar reavers, instead of killing him they captured him. During his enslavement he made allies with vect. In essence acting as a strongarm for Vect when Vect was a mere slave. In M35 the Imperium of Man struck Commorragh, in one of the earliest actions Zachariah saved Vects life. After the battle was finished Vect returned the favor and made sure Zachariah was in a post that offered neither promotion nor grandiose power, he freed Zachariah and allowed him to teach young Wyches in the Arena, and Zachariah was quite content and happy with this life. Personality: Rather harsh and cold Zachariah strikes many Wyches as being a masterfully made Grotesque.
Weapon(s) of choice: Bolter, Salamanders relic sword
Motivation: Survival, while not a coward he has no desire to be caught by the Unforgiven Chapters. Loyalty to Vect also drives Zachariah to capture the relic held by the fallen house.

Swiftblade wrote: Celxis Nemeron
Spoiler:
Name: Celxis Nemeron
Race: Dark Eldar (Scourge)
Gender: Male
Age: 256
Role: Solarite of the Bone Hawks
Affiliation: Aerie of the Bone Hawks
Appearance: Celxis stands tall for a Scourge, and his body and face are covered in scarlet tattoos, the same color as his eyes and short, spiked hair. For being such a young Eldar, he is horribly sccarred, with several scars across his sharp, angular face and lithe body. His wings and helmet are the color of bone, while his expensive ghostplate armor is a deep red, and his feathered wings are proud and strong. He carries his weapons on his body and keeps his knife in a sheath on his breast, ready at any moment.
Background: Celxis was a trueborn of privilege, and because o this was able to join a kabal at the age of 90 and begin his life as a trueborn. He was trained well, but was still naive to the grit of combat and the intrigue and betrayals that existed in Commorragh. His 52 years as a Trueborn were rarely filled with combat, only going on minor raids with no real risk. His noble status, even amongst trueborn, though, allowed him to climb rank and earn a comfortable position as Archon. He spent his days at arenas, surrounded by his personal concubines and incubi bodyguards, wallowing in the privilege of his position. As his Kabal began to rot from his poor leadership, other Kabals honed in on it's weakness and attacked his holdings in a swift blow. They slaughtered his I'll trained men, and Celxis fled for his life in terror to he underground. Mortally wounded, he stumbled in a Haemoncuku coven and begged for a new chance, for them to save his life. And as he gave them his life savings, hey grinned in glee as hey saw opportunity in him.

Unconsented, they did more than fix his wounds, they transformed him into a scourge. Unprepared for the surgery, Celxis was mentally traumatized and twisted, and howled in pain and hatred the entire operation. As the flesh artists completed their work, Celxis struck against them and injured hen before flying away, innocence and sanity shattered. Upon reaching the leaks, he gazed upon Commorragh, and his new form, and grinned. He realized just how superior he now was. To everything in the city. And he sought to prove it in blood and violence.

He formed his Bone Hawks gang and participated in raids for various Kabals, earning a name in brutality even amount Dark Eldar. Eventually, when his gang of scours became large enough, he focused less on raids and more on striking against denizens of the Dark City. The Bone Hawks became infamous in his part of Commorragh, and few risked coming into the spires for fear of their lives. Celxis had chained from an inexperienced Archon to an extremely dangerous Scourge. He had become an expert fighter and tactician, and the Bone Hawks influence continues to spread throughout the city.
Personality: Celxis's personality was horrifyingly warped by his transformation into a Scourge. He is prone to fits of violent rage, and sometimes partakes in acts of violence for no reason other than the fact It entertains him. He believes Scourges superior to the "lesser" Dark Eldar without wings, and ranges from either arrogant near them to intolerant and extreme. He is a cunning and brutal leader, sometimes even exercising patience in his plans. He is fiercely proud of his gang, believing them to be the most skilled and Able scoures in Commorragh.
Weapons of choice: Shardcarbine, Power Spear, Splinter Pistol, and his knife, fabled to be carved from bone, of which he enjoys making his most personal kills.
Motivation: To partake in the chaos that will surround the events of the Blue Shadow's downfall, but also to use this to rise above the "lesser" Dark Eldar and claim the towers for his own.

I'm still trying to decide.. I've been looking for an integrated Dice-Roller to put the thing...

Unless we can give a link to an online one and simply trust each other? xD

Once we have a dice roller, I can create a system for combt (that'll take about 5-10 minutes)

This should be Bohuslav, bringing Vect his own head would be interesting though (if difficult)... it'd certainly get you a decent amount of power and respect. xD

Otherwise, s'all good.

So, where exactly are we all headed? Do we need to meet somewhere specific?

No idea where everyones headed.
There's no specific meeting place, words gone out, it's the sort of info that people will latch onto (true or not, though in this case it is actually true, there's a rogue archon to hunt etc) just because they can.

So it's basically just deciding where is best to start and where you want to go to hunt.

As GM I'm working on some details to PM to people, various clues and rumours that may or may not lead you to your target, that you can discover and use in your posts.

Also, give it a bit and I'll put out 'big' rumours that are spreading across the city, and progress stuff along.

Drychera is going to find stuff out, she doesn't spend much time in the dark city, so needs to get info from spies, then quite possibly find someone(s) more familiar with the dark city.

OK.

Sorry this got pushed to the side for a while, we've had 3 weeksish of family emergencies, rushing all over the country and deaths in the family.

I'm now officially back and with it, and so will start contacting the people involved with rumours / info / game advanced plot. xD
