I had a set of each on order at the flgs but he was told they had been delayed due to a problem, fair enough, but people who ordered the bag edition of the rules had the dice. I mentioned this to the shop owner who rang GW about it, he was told someone would ring him back, never happened, and now there is no sign of them on the GW site... (unless I'm going blind!)

Apparently the dice that come in the Gamer's Edition are different somehow, perhaps by colour. But I've read somewhere that the dice that are purchased on their own are delayed or cancelled or something; so that should explain their disappearance from the website.

I've heard there's manufacturing issues with the regular dice sets and that it's been pushed to be released on July 28th.

The Gamer's Edition dice are red, the regular dice that will be released at the end of the month along with the other two dice packs are black.

Yet to hear from GW why the dice have been pushed back to the end of this month though..

apparently they are stuck on a boat in the middle of the ocean (somewhere near spain). butthey'll be released at the end of the month

1.) WD wrongly says an earlier release date 30th June, being printed several months in advance. Only Gamer's edition offers similar dice in red.
2.) Rumours always hinted at a release date end of July, which turned out correct.
3.) GW facebook said dice are delayed, now they are scheduled as rumours always predicted.
4.) So preorders should go up Saturday next week, but these dice will be ultra limited. Local stores only get maybe 2-3 or none at all.

Ultra-limited? Doesn't say "While stock lasts" anywhere.

I have the gamers edition and the dice are red. The ones GW is supposed to sell individually are supposed to be black.

Now, one thing to note: these dice are not of a good enough quality to use in for rolling. They aren't symmetrical and therefore they aren't balanced at all. Because of this I won't allow my opponents to use them as anything other than a counter.

if GW stopped their release because of that issue, I'll be happy to reconsider. However, I doubt they will tell us why as it would mean a massive recall/replacement with what's already been sold.

As opposed to regular dice, which are also not perfectly symmetrical? (some sides have 6 divots, some have only 1)

I think you're seriously taking the need for perfectly balanced dice a little far.

Normal dice take account of this and dots are either different sizes or drilled out accordingly. So, yes, that can be an issue.

When the dice have different lengths for the sides, then that influences the outcome far more than the number dots. And they aren't off by just a little bit, it's very apparent when you stack them into a cube.

I've never seen this particular issue in other dice I've purchased or received in other game sets.

In effect, they are kinda cool but I wouldn't trust them on the table.

This was announced the week the game came out, not eeally news or rumor.

A production problem is less likely than a logistics problem. They may have been sent on a slow boat from China (and I'm not trying to be funny there). The ones in the satchel were shipped with the rest of the stuff in the satchel... the rest of the dice got on a different boat.

Hopefully they didn't end up on the bottom of the Atlantic with the container full of Eldar Falcons that went over the side when they were being shipped to the US prior to their initial release.

From what I have heared, it is some sort of 'Warehouse Issue' that means they have been delayed.

Yeah, the delay never bothered me, rather the talk of these sets being limited.

The Warhammer Fantasy dice were also rubbish for rolling. I think that was because the material they were made of wasn't as dense as regular dice. Also given the huge numbers of dice that are usually rolled the dice are pretty much a collectors' item, nice to have but not really practical.

Funny thing is that the dice should be released next week, but didn't appear in the preorder today. Mail order doesn't know why.
Either another delay or just no preorder time or just a mistake by the website guys. Weird.

BTW I still think they are limited.

Forget it, not worth it one bit.

The dice are to be released this Friday/Sat. I was already asked by our sales rep to place our pre-order. Each store will be receiving a set allocation. Ours was about a dozen. =)

uuh, I bought a set in my local GW today already (yesterday, by now I guess).
staffer said they heard conflicting reports on whether they were limited or not.
wait, I'll get a phone pic up in a few min. before people start calling BS. I realize this would mean it's one of their own stores selling early, haha. also the guy not having a clue if they were limited or not points to utter chaos in their supply chain?
