Which new race would you like to see and what should the story be about?

This really needs to be under 'Video Games'.

EDIT: Dur, didnt answer the question I would like to see Tau made up properly as a race.

I would second Tau after playing the Tau commander in Last Stand.

In fact i'd like to see Last Stand as a separate/expanded game of it's own as it is way more fun than regular multiplayer, it could do with more maps/arenas though.

If they do another Dawn of War 2 expansion, I'd like to see it go out with a bang. More maps, a new commander for each race (Noise Champion for Chaos Space Marines, Tervigon for Tyranids, Chaplain for Space Marines, etc...) and the rest of the races introduced, including Daemons as a standalone faction.

If Dawn of War 3 is made, I want the base building/unit production aspect thrown out altogether. Basically, you select your army, deploy, and fight. In effect 40K in cyberspace.

Damnit I hate having to capture objectivs and hold onto them, mutter mutter.

As fun as DOW2 was, I'd prefure it if they left that part of the series behind, it was a huge step back from DoW1 and they need to make this game more like Epic armageddon, bigger battles, more troops and a better more in depth campaign system

Although, the lack of in-mission saves does mean you pay HEAVILY for every little mistake in the campaign, its a great game.

Releasing a SoB expansion would actually motivate me to buy the main game. The only other race I'm interested in playing would be the Imperial Guard, and from what I've seen DoW2 fails at properly portraying the size at which the IG should operate.

For me personally, DoW1 with all its expansions was almost perfect. A DoW3 attempting to build upon that would be sweet.

That, or somebody should do a sequel of Final Liberation.

But agreed, DoW1 was awesome fun (dont get me wrong, it has its problems, and DoW2 has its upsides, but i prefer DoW1).

I'd like to actually see all the races put in, and a DOTA type game made using the heroes, could be great fun in a 5v5 or even 6v6 format trying to work togethe rot demolish the enemy base.

@Lynata, I wish they would, final liberationw as such a fun game... ah the memories. And i do agree the guar din DOW 2 wern't that well represented in numbers wise. I think when i played them the only real thing to do was spam a few elman russes and have some infantry around to keep them safe.... would have loved masses of men.

Aye, I'm not sure why GW are concerned about electronic copies of the game.

If you are wired that way, you will probably pick up models after coming into the game.

When I was helping run a DMO MMO forum a while back, it seemed a heck of a lot of newer players where coming on board with armies, because Dawn of War introduced them to the universe.

I actually loved DoW II alot more than DoW, to tell the truth. It was far more tactical, even if it did take some misteps along the way.

Let's not get in to that tired old DoW vs DoW2 argument now.

Maybe a few mroe men and tanks, but thats the sort of level I'd love, masses of me (maybe make it 2 squad sof guardsmen for each time you build them (kind of a 2 for 1) and add in more artillery and such, then you can have a rolling mass of men and tanks on the map.

I'm one of the chaps who leans with DoW 2 as being the better game.

Personally I'd like to see Necrons, I think that they are more suited for DoW 2's scale.

While i disagree on which of the games is better Henners, im totally with you on adding Necrons to DoW2!

You too Duce, the IG was terrible in DoW2 in terms of what they would be bringing to a conflict of that scale. They also felt the most restricted by the FoC in-game, that could do with being expanded.

Hear, hear! I don't feel that base building/production has much of anything to do with 40k and is my least favorite part of the games. I would love to see a 40k game set up along the lines of the Total War series. I know Warhammer fantasy had a game built that way but by pretty much all accounts it was a terribly made game.

The campaign for DoW2 was my favorite aspect of the 2nd installment of the series. Playing through the campaigns in co-op (we only played the SM part in Retribution to finish out the story from the first two games of DoW2) ended up being some of the most fun I've had in all of my years of video gaming.

What I have always wanted to see is for Relic to make a Horus Heresy era expansion focused on the Battle of Terra. Remember how in Dark Crusade you could select which territories to conquer? That could easily be done for the BoT (actually, kind of like the board game they have now).

Horus Heresy is boring, so why would I want that?

Have you read any of the novels from the series? They are *mostly* fantastic. Plus, without the Horus Heresy, the 40k universe would just be the Emperor ruling the galaxy and chaos all but defeated

Loved DOWC... probably one of the few RTS campaigns I bothered to play more than once.

I'd love to see a Total War style game... but just with squigs... nothing but squigs... and maybe a Squat.

I support Squigsquasher, I would love to see a virtual version of what we play on the table. Basically exactly the same.
It could be be like Magic the gathering online where you pay a smaller price for models. Don't care, I just move around a lot to small areas that are away from GW stores and would like to be able to play when I need to.

Some may shout HERESY! in my direction by saying this but I personally didn't find DOW or DOW2 any good. Granted I only played the demos and have a biased towards all the Space Marine chapters. Playing as something you would rather not makes it difficult I find. Oddly enough I did find Space Marine enjoyable even with playing as an Ultramarine.

I still have no clue why Dark Crusade is considered better. It's certainly not by any means I can tlel.

Id would acctualy like to see more of what we got in Dow2 Vanila and Chaos rising, and less of what we got in retribution. Because I really, really hate that campagin with a vengance. Oh and do remove IG from the game.

I did have a quick glance over Dark Crusade. Just looked at the wiki and having Tau and Necrons as playable races is a good thing. As for races I like well easiest way is the Xenos side apart from Orks and Eldar, CSM is my preferred race of choice though.
