Current Chapter Master: Pal Derrax
Founding: 11th
Gene Seed: Unknown, although suggested to be a hybridization which includes Raven Guard.
Gene-Stock Purity: Above Average
Gene-Stock Mutation: Pale skin and dark hair are common among the chapter, but not universal as it is in the Raven Guard Chapter. Minor mutations common among other founding chapters are present, though not in significant quantities, suggesting that there is either a minor instability within the Gene Seed, or that it contains traits from a wide range of chapters.
Speciality: Mobility, Long Range Combat, Extraction Missions
Battlecry: "May the winds blow true"
Current Strength: 684 marines, including the scout company (5th company completely destroyed, 6th company reduced to 7 marines, 4, and 9th at 40% strength, all others near 100% strength).
Fortress-Monastary: The Aviary on Kalex Beta.
Recruiting Worlds: Primarily Kalex System, however they generally recruit wherever they fight.
Chapter Colours: Primary White, Secondary Black.

Inquisition Notes: Strongly adherent to the Codex Astares in terms of military composition. However, they have a greater tendency towards the use of heavy weaponry to soften enemy lines, followed by rapid strikes to capitalize on their foes weakness. Strongly loyal to the emperor, although they have a strong dislike of the Ecclesiarchy (likely because an over-ambitious Priest declared them heretics due to a simple disagreement, resulting in a minor but bloody conflict) and will refuse to work alongside forces of the church.

Gene-Stock Purity: Slightly below average.
Gene-Stock Mutations: Increased psychic potential among recruits (although not to the degree of other chapters, such as the Blood Ravens)
Speciality: Psychic Warfare, Naval Battles, Artillery, Terminators
Battlecry: "Cast them into eternity"
Current Strength: Approximately half strength (539 Marines, including Scouts)
Fortress Monastary: 2, the Pinnacle on Bastia, and the Song of the Void (A Battle Barge which serves as the Void Wanderers capital ship)
Recruiting Worlds: Bastia System and neighboring systems.
Chapter Colours: Primary Colour Purple, Secondary Colour Silver.

Inquisition Notes: Adopt Dark Angels tactical organization within their own structure, but also adapt them and codex tactics to best fit the task at hand. Has an unusually high number of ancient weapons and Terminator Armour suits for such a young chapter. It is rumoured that they have discovered a means of manufacturing small amounts of the armour, particularly the highly advanced Tartaros Pattern Armour although how is unknown. Like any Dark Angels successor chapter, they are highly secretive and have been known to suddenly disengage from a conflict for no known reason. However, they are not as closely linked to the Dark Angels as other chapters, and are rumoured to be investigating their own past as much as they pursue their secretive agenda.

About: The Angels of the Black sun are a 25th founding Space Marine chapter, created from the geneseed of the Ultramarines Primach Roboute Guilliman. For the most part, the Angels adhere to the Codex, deviating only in a few instances when it comes to the names and heraldry of some formations. They specialize in shock assaults, often preceding massive drop pod assaults with thunderous orbital bombardments that split open enemy defenses and leave them dazed and confused for the Angels to mop up. Throughout their millennia of service to the God-Emperor of Mankind, the Angels have won many battle honours including the destruction of WAAAAGH! Gutchompa, the defense of Bastion Complex 2-2-15, and most recently the Battle of Brannigan’s Folly.
Despite their varied victories and honors, there are many in Imperial society who mistrust the Angels of the Black Sun. Much of this mistrust stems from their abhorrence at the tribal rituals the Angels perform as well as their somewhat bloodthirsty nature in battle. Some also comes from the fact that the methods used by the Angels in battle are somewhat imprecise, and have more then once resulted in Imperial Guard units being destroyed by friendly fire.
The Angels also harbor a large amount of mistrust and dislike towards the many Ordos of the Inquisition, especially the Ordos Xenos. This friction is the result of an Inquisitor by the name of Basque Grand, who in the opening years of the 41st millennium, accused the Angels of the Black Sun of being tainted by Xenos influences. These accusations were false of course, but animosity still lingers. Because of this, the Angels are reluctant to allow their battle brothers to join the Deathwatch or work alongside the Ordos Xenos.

Notable Members:
- Chapter Master Ameth Hezal: The current chapter master of the Angels of the Black Sun, Ameth Hezal has lead the chapter for three centuries. In battle he is a fearsome sight, often at the forefront of the charge wielding his massive relic blade, Memoriam Lamina, with terrifying might and skill. Outside of battle, Ameth is boisterous and loud, but also possessed of a vile temper. Many a pict recorder has been destroyed at his hand when one of his Captains delivered a less then optimal report or another Imperial organization inadvertently insulted his honor.


- Reclusiarch Atthes Resand: Reclusiarch Atthes Resand is the spiritual leader of the chapter. In opposition to Chapter Master Hezal's fiery and fierce nature, Reclusiarch Resand is a quiet and cold person. But despite this, he is capable of delivering fierce oratory during battle to inspire his troops.


Other: The Angels of the Black Sun place heavy emphasis on occult rituals involving blood sacrifice, scarification, and ritual tattooing

Founding: Second
Geneseed: Ultramarines
Purity: Progenoids over develop if not removed from living marines within 100 years, causing extreme psychotic rages and minor mutation in marines.
Mutations: As mentioned above, without removal of proenoids marines enter a bezerker state, strangely susceptible to the whispers of Chaos in this form.
Speciality: Due to the increased chance of mutation, Chaplains play a large in role in ensuring spiritual purity of the chapter, each company has two attached Chaplains, there is a large Reclusiam and the Librarium is kept below ten members.
Codex adherence: Mostly Codex, but with more religious zeal and elected Chaplain leading the chapter, with captains acting as a Chapter council.
Current Stength: 8 companies plus small Scout force.
Homeworld: Calth Secundus (Named after the world destroyed by the Word Bearers where most of the original chapter hailed from).
Fortress-Monastary: The Vaticano Fortress
Battlecry: Purity and Faith!

(The lord general militant tellisant abandoned them after late chapter master haggei threatened to "Strangle him with his own small intestine if he didn't support his assault with a squadron of vendettas and storm trooper support you imbecile.")
One company including the chapter master was wiped out making sure the remaining 3 companies escaped.
