So this month I have resurrected my space wolves army.
At Golem Painting Studio we have decided to paint 250pts of 40k a month and play at least a game a month with them and document our journey through the 41st millennium
First up the razorback with a new style of painting from me!



Next a wolf priest and five grey hunters

That blue-ish grey looks awesome, loads better than the usual ice-cream grey they officially have.

Overall I think it looks really good, with the extra icons and shields, and the not over-done weathering. Congratulations on a beautiful painted miniature!

Can I ask where you got the AssCannon turret, though?

I wish I could do 250 points a month, that's like 40 orks ;_;

That's stunningly well painted, I really like it. I like the small touches like the paint having scraped off to the steel below at the front and in areas where it's actually likely to happen. And the grime under the front windows.

A lovely model, made all the more impressive if this is truly a new style for you. Apparently, it suits you... or you suit it. Regardless, the result is stunning - plenty of characterful details and iconography without overcrowding, thorough but relatively understated weathering... I can't find anything to dislike.

Someday I will, but I can't decide which army to paint yet! (100+ Tac Marines, about that many Orks, way too many Dark Eldar)...

That is awesome, I love it. You know what I'd like? A brief run down of how you actually did it, what techniques you used, maybe even what colours you used. You don't have to do that of course It's just that looks awesome and I painted a few tanks recently trying to achieve that look and falling very short! I love the way you made it look weathered and shaded without looking like it's a rusted out wreck or no one ever cleaned it, but still looks quite natural.

Also, where abouts did you get the wooden shields? I like them.

Sorry if I sound a bit insane, I love Space Wolves but also hate them because I can never make them look how I picture them in my mind.

I followed the guide in the second forge world guide book and just substituted gw space wolf colours - the fang, russ grey, fenris grey.
the sheilds are from the beastmen kits.

Have you considered using Dwarven axes on your pups? I'm not sure about the current ones because I haven't tried them, but the old ones fitted well to Space Wolves (since they were oversized for the Dwarfs).

Just a thought, you might not like the idea, but I felt it gave a sense of uniqueness to my Space Wolves and set them apart from regular Marines.

Wow these are gorgeous! If you ever get time, I'd love to read a guide on how you did these. I could learn a lot, and I'm sure others would too!

Looking really good, there's not much about them I don't like. Really inspiring me to paint up some Space Wolves as they really have the feel I have been trying to achieve with my pups. Is that Rakarth Flesh and Khorne Red on the shoulder pads?

I just finished my next grey hunter at home to complete my second squad for this months GIMP 250.
Next up 5 wolf scouts.

Do you use transfers or free hand the chapter symbols?

I use both I freehanded the pack markings and any runes and i used a transfer for the company marking to keep things speedy and consistent

I have not decided on the company name /background yet, i was going to let the games we play forge the narrative, here's a link to see the first game

And now the Wolf Scouts are done it means i have hit the 500pts target

Well it's been a little longer that i would have like for an update on my wolves but hey ho and here we go!

For my next 250pts i did 10 sky claws so my wolf priest has a pack to lead.
And two more grey hunters with different special wpns to add more coice to my troops gear
