Hey guys, a long time ago the ‘name a miniature’ threads were quite it and flooding the boards. I thought they were a lot of fun and had my own. Now, it’s back. And yes, I hear some mods already screaming because those threads resulted in a lot of off-topic chat, so let’s not do this here.

Please note that I will be using Cadian models with a different paintjob, and I’m not a good converter, so no female models (sorry!).

The Korvax 12th Regiment is a renowned heavy infantry regiment, specialized in siege warfare. They come from the cold, harsh world of Korvax, and every man is expected to serve in the army for 2 years at least. The best will get picked out of those 2 years, and they get inducted into the Imperial Guard. Any guardsman from the Korvax Regiments is expected to survive alone without any help for atleast 24 hours, making though soldiers indeed.

I might do this myself... though that's an unholy number of models to name....

I'll start with an Ogryn!
Name: The Bone'ead Curious Jorge
Age: 53
Background: When Jorge was growing up, he wasn't the brightest Ogryn (which is saying something), but he was certainly the most curious.
He spent all day every day exploring everything he could, often getting into massive trouble, or getting incredibly hurt.
One day after having got lost in the jungle around his village, he stumbled into a local Imperial Guard base, somehow being missed for several days as he explored, searching the exciting new places leaving a mysterious mess everywhere he went, until he was rooting through a store room, knocking over 2 of the wrong bottles of chemicals, which mixed and exploded.
Jorge was found unconcious surrounded and blackened, surrounded by wrecked gear.
He was immediately sent to Ogryn training, the guardsmen assuming he had already been selected for it and wandered off.
After the first 3 days at this place, he was put in for the BONE treatment - the instructors mistaking his curiosity as intelligence (at least as much as an Ogryn has) as he'd managed to take apart several weapons without blowing himself up (he got really lucky).
He now leads a squad of Ogryns into war, occasionally getting side tracked in missions to stop and take something interesting apart, or explore 'that shiny over there'.
Appearance: He's a regular Ogryn, though covered in more scars and bruises than most (and many of them self inflicted). He keeps a collection of trinkets on his belt - various shinies he's found in his travels.

I had a character but I forgot it. I'll post it if I remember.

One model each. Names will be written undee tthe base, kills will be recorded by name. I've been looking aat Ogryn models for a while, and I'm planning to buy one soon .. I will add you to the roster when I'm back behind my pc, and maybe I'll upload some pictures too..

Anyways, we might be going to fight our first battle this afternoon

So, we were on a patrol, and all of the sudden a horde of those green skinned monsters called 'Orks' appeared. We quickly went in battle formation, and the colonel and his men quickly started hiding in some old ruin, issueing orders all over us. Lucky us that we had carapace armor!

Deployment:


Turn 1

The Orks moved forward as fast as they could, none of them shooting. Their leader was mounted with his Nob friends in a Trukk, wich drove straight at us.
In our first turn, we opened fire on those Xeno basterds. The Leman Russ popped the Trukk open, destroying it in the first turn! They were lucky, however, as they all came out alive, even though the thing exploded. We opened fire at the Ork Boyz, killing 5 of them, the rest remaining unharmed because of their armor.

Turn 2

This turn, the Ork Nobz and the Warboss charged straight into one of our units! Luckily, the sergeant had a powersword, so we weren't insta-killed yet. He even managed to hurt their 'Warboss', chopping off one of his wounds. We also had to overwatch, and we were lucky: we killed 2 of those Nobz! However, in return, 5 of our men were killed by the filthy Xenos.
The rest of us opened fire on the Boyz, inspired by the sacrifice of our fellow Korvax soldiers, and killed a stunning 12 of them! The cowardice Orks ran away, never to be seen again.

Turn 3

The Warboss and his Nobz killed the veterans. We moved and formed newe positions. The LR killed the warboss.

Turn 4

As the Nobz prepared to charge, we started shooting them, killing 5. They too fled. Victory to Korvax!

Name: Veteran Seargent Kain Jacobi
Age: 23
Background: Kain grew up like most kids on Korvax, well you can't really call it 'growing up' actually more like survived untill he could fight for his life. Enrolling into the Guard 14 months before he was supposed to. On his first mission his entire squad save for him were brutally killed and cut up by a Heretic Space Marine, Kain being the lucky bastard he is, accidently slipped his Lasguns Bayonet in between two Ceramite plates, killing the Marine and also burrying Kain beneath the Marine. When they found Kain 12 hours later he was oversplatered with blood, with only a light fracture in his arm.
His luck only increased over the years saving him from many a dreadfull attacks and assaults. Now years later he leads the Veteran Squad "Jacobi's Luck".
Appearance: Kain Jacobi is a pretty normal looking fella, tall and broad shoulders dark shortcropped hair and a scared face.

Name: Charles 'Kenny' Witherbee
Age: 27
Background: Charles grew up in the Korvax slum where every day is a struggle to survive. at age 20, he and his two younger brothers were adopted into the army, after their parents died of hygiene related sickness.
Appearance: Tall, musceled and goodlooking, he has short-shaved, brown hair and a scar on his left arm, which he got after removing a bullet.

I'll try to get some pictures of the current veterans and the 20 miniatures of Platoon Alpha that I have right now. I'm planning to finish Platoon Alpha after my birthday, and when that happens it's on to the more special forces, like Ogryns, Stormtroopers, etc.

Model: Stormtrooper sergeant
Name: Sev 'Slasher' Slavas
Age: 46
Background: Sev started his Guardsmen training from the age of 10, his father being a sergeant in the regiment and made sure his son would follow his footsteps. Sev's father made him sleep on the floor, stay out in harsh weather, hunt alone and made strip and clean weapons, by 15 he knew how to strip most weapons with his eyes closed. When he came of age he joined up and began to work with more men of his age, he came out on top of most of his fellow guardsmen and during combat he showed he was a born leader. When he was leading an assault on an ork line his squad was slaughtered but he charged the line and began to cut down green skins, by the end of the battle he was surrounded by dead greenskins this is what brought him into his Stormtrooper squad. He now leads his troops into the thickest battles.

Model: Banner Bearer - HQ

Name: Otto Gruno

Age: 170+ (Imperial Record Incomplete)

Background: Otto Gruno is a strange character indeed. Not native to Korvax, he was adopted by the corps after the 12th stumbled upon the massacred remains of a unmarked Imperial Guard regiment and found a haggard Otto standing alone, clutching desperately to a tattered black banner. Even as he was sedated for medical treatment, Otto refused to let go of his duty and for that the Korvax high command allowed him the honor of carrying their standard into battle. Unfortunately, Otto continued to refuse to let go of his bloodied standard, so instead his nondescript banner was painted over with the colors of the 12th and was expected to be replaced when Otto died. Ironically, Otto has now served proudly in his regiment for over 150 years, outlasting virtually every other member including retired generals on juvant therapy. Otto has extensive bionics from his countless wounds, but he still carries his banner proudly, a century and a half of his service accounting for many of the medals and seals attached to its faded colors.

Appearance: Otto is old, with skin like burnt leather and a gnarly white beard. His eyes are coldly black with the irises bleeding into coronas hardened in milky blindness. He has long since lost his legs to bionics, though sometimes they are covered in pants. His standard is a worn sheet of satin, painted many times over with the imagery of the 12th and has countless medals that jangle and shake with Otto's stalwart advance.

I see no reason why a 170+ year old man who's seen over 150 years of war would object to having himself a cigar lol.
