It would be a pretty cool thing to see on the big screen. But what actors would you guys say have that 40k look to them, or feel?

I think that one guy from Spartacus: Blood and Sand, the rival of Spartacus, Crixus I think, would make a choice Marine. Maybe the standard action heroes like Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Chaos Marines would be someone like the bad guy from Iron Man 2, except all scarred up and possesed looking lol. Idk, just an idea

Who would you want to portray your favorite race???

Lol Godfrey.

You never know, it is quite possible. I'm not saying its something I'm hoping for, since it would take a lot of work on the part of the writing and scripting to keep things under fluff.

There hasn't been any good video game adaptations, so I would understand how it seems less likely.

Well, depending on the flavor of speess mahreen, Gerard butler, hugh jackman, and chris evans, would be good younger roles. Christopher Lee, Anthony hopkins, and Bill Moseley could play veterans

- James Purefoy as an Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus or Xenos.
- Sean Pertwee as an Imperial Guard Officer.
- Robert Carlyle as an Imperial Guard Sergeant.
- Jeremy Irons as the Imperial Guard General.
- Tim Curry as a leader of Chaos, whether as a Chaos Lord or human renegade (he'd be an awesome rogue Cardinal - he did play Cardinal Richelieu after all)

Best I can think of for now. Could probably crowbar in Brian Blessed and Simon Callow somewhere.

I think a live-action 40k movie would look stupid as feth, especially in the Heresy era.

How about a film trilogy based on the three Armageddon wars then? Or a TV series about the 13th Black Crusade? Or a movie about the Damocles Gulf Crusade?

Perhaps...so long as it isn't about Space Marines. They're badass and all, at least in the fluff and in the novels, but an audience needs characters they can connect to; I doubt one can connect with super-humans.

I've always related with Space Marines more than, say, the Imperial Guard honestly.

Perhaps because like them I walk among the masses of a human race I have origins to, but am now so superior and far-removed from that any comparison is superficial at best.

Maybe it's just because I exude enough homoerotic machismo to choke a horse.

Let' see, hmm IMHO templates would be:
Cate Blanchett - CSM - Slaanesh
Manu Benett - CSM Khorne
Christoper Lee - CSM Tzeench and Nurgle
Vlad Kulitch - SW
Butler - UM
Robert Pattinson -BA
Vin Diesel - Salamaders

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."

Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? I say no live action movie. But we should have more movies made by the guy who made this:

Stated by Grey Templar:The Ward of the Codices
"It began, with the writing of the Great Codices,
2 were given to the Eldar. Immortal, Capricious, and most farsighted of all,
2 also to Chaos. Traitorous, Deceitful, Servants of the Dark Gods,
3 to the Xenos races. T'au, Orks, and Necrons. the Young, the Beast, and the Spiteful,
7 to the race of men. Servents of the God Emperor, the Inheritors of the Galaxy.

But they were all of them, decieved. for another Codex was written…
In the Land of Ward'or, in the Fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Matthew wrote in secret, a Master Codex, to rule all the others. One by one, all the armies of the other Codices fell to the power of the Codex, and from this Darkness, none could see hope.

But there were some, who resisted. a Last Alliance of Men and Xenos took up arms against the forces of Ward'or and on the Slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of 40k."

Stay back, fiend, back!

*coughs*

Right, on another note, how do we portray the Eldar. Orks, Necrons, and others are easy enough, but Eldar are supposed to be on the same level as Trans-Humans.

As for 40k live action movie...

Ever watched "Lord of the Rings" trilogy?

Same thing only Horus Heresy, and more than 3 movies ( I think that about 6 or 8 would cover it all ).

The only problem would be $, they would need a LOT of $ to film all of this.

Eldar would be very easy to portray. They're just space elves. Get the elf cast from lotr

Something like Firefly, then?

Homebrew Imperial Guard: 1222nd Etrurian Lancers (Winged); Special Air-Assault Brigade (SAAB)
Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)

Grimdarker*. Also, considering that the 40K ships are ludicrously huge, the ship itself is one big setting. You can have a loads of recurring characters and locations.

* I think any 40K film should have feel that would be something between Sincity and Brazil.

Only with less cowboys. :p

Christopher Eccleston as a Space Marine sergeant.

Michelle Rodriguez already plays an excellent Guardswoman in Battle: LA, so she's a shoe-in to take that role again.

Audrey Tautou would make an excellent Inquisitor.

Dame Judi Dench as a Sororitas Canoness. Tell me you can't see it.

Ian McKellan as a Governor or Ecclesiarch?

Mandy Patinkin as an Inquisitorial savant.
