Being a full time commission painter i very rarely have time to paint for myself.

This is upsetting, so instead of crying myself to sleep or spending hours upon hours complaining that i don't have time i will be sitting down for a couple of hours a week to paint for myself

I have decided to jump upon a bandwagon and do a Nurgle Daemon army. Now i'm no gamer so this will be quite a fluffy list but by the end of April I want to have at least 20 Plague Bearers 6 bases of Nurglings and a Herald.

So let me know what you think of pics or if you know of any Nurgly models I could use as a Skullcannon of Khorne

cheers

Martin

Delightfully nurgle!

Nice! The new GW Daemons were a bit of a mixed bag IMO, but I definitely loved the Nurglings!

Hi peeps done a little more so i thought i'd share and thanks for the comments.

I'm going to either use the snail as a Beast of Nurgle or as a unit filler for the Plague Bearers as its a little small.

The herald is wip and just putting it out there for criticism

I'm really impressed with the base and the conversion work on the herald of Nurgle, it really attracts the eye and it looks truly horrifying (in a good way!).

The colours are intentionally random just different mixes of Vallejo model air colours and GW paints.
I don't want anything in the army to be identical, i've tried to use similar hues and allow the eye colour and purple/pinks to tie them together.
Certain colours are used for highlights like nurgling green or pallid wych flesh (GW paints) i've been using doombull brown as a base shade as well.

Many thanks for the positive comments.

That Herald is amazing!

The paint job is stunning, but the conversion of the Plaguebearer head on the Chaos Lord really works well.

Very nice indeed – beautiful colour choices and seamless brushwork. I particularly like the precision on details like the eyeballs; too much Nurgle stuff is lazily, rather than intentionally, messy. These are a great combination of randomness and precision.

Regarding ideas for a Nurgle version of the Skullcannon, have you considered using the Warhammer Forge Squig Gobba as the basis for a conversion? With a Plaguesbearer crew and Nurglings replacing the smaller squigs, it'd fit right in.

The nurglings are just classic! Great stuff. Your blending and color choice is very nice and smoothly applied. The Nurgle Snail rules.

The squig gobba is on the short list and with the time and effort would be an awesome conversion but isn't it the same size as an arachnarok? I think id struggle to get it on a chariot base?
