So with the update allowing 2 of the same weapon to be taken and not having to make it twin linked (http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m3170231a_Tau_Empire_v1.0_APRIL13.pdf)

I know a lot of people have been reading it that way anyway and have made there lists accordingly, but i have also noticed alot of people including my self wanted to wait for this faq before doing it as it looked like it would get faq'ed the other way.

So what are peoples Favourite crisis layouts now?

Thanks to GW for clearing this up.

Double fusion suit, deep struck near a tank and Pinpoint the shots with markerlights will probably become my anti-armor as I can't afford to buy 3 Riptides right off the bat.

Really they actually FAQ'd it in favor of the questionable way of reading it? I only say questionable because it seemed kinda 50-50 on whether or not it was legal rather than the random 10-15 people out of 300 saying its not legal.

Well, that saves 5pts and a slot on my buffcommander loadout lol dont need that TL flamer at all.

I imagine people are going to start taking double plasmas or double meltas now.

HA! HA HA HA HA!!!

I've been running a Duel Missile Pod Shas'O since Tau first came out and no one has ever questioned it.

Arrr my FWs were going to have Missile Drones =(
Oh well, guess it makes sense for only BSs to have them or you would never see another Gun Drone on Battlesuits.

As to layouts these are the ones I use in my army:

Shas'O - Plasma Rifle, TL - Missile Pod, Shield Generator and Irridium Armour
2 x Shas'Vre with Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod and Shield Generator each

Shas'El - Fusion Blaster, Cyclic Ion Blaster (even better this Edition), Stimulant Injector, Vectored Retro Thrusters, Shield Drone and Gun Drone

3 x Shas'Ui with Burst Cannon and TL - Missile Pod each

3 x Shas'Ui with Burst Cannon and TL - Flamer each

You can only fire 2 weapons, so why a TL weapon?

So if you have a Single-single-twin set-up you must choose only 2 of the 3.

Target Lock.

Lets him target 1 thing and light up another with the drones.

At least I think that is what he is going for.

Ah, the target lock just totally went over my head there, i blame the outdated acronym mouseovers.

I think i go for a bullet magnet with MP+MP+SG and just jump around taking potshots hoping he shoot at em instead of everything else.

Exactly, his two drones and the 4 others he joins shoot Markers at BS5 and he shoots 4 tank hunter missiles at a separate target.

This is pure cheddar and I like it. so many amazing combinations to be made suits with specific roles just got so much better

Each suit could have 8 str5 shots of which 4 are twin linked for geq

Or dual fusions for heavy armour no more av14 problems

GW is unbelievable.. They release a faq for some obviously not questionable still there are a gazillion things out there that need clearing up but they stay up in the air for months and months.

Any way this was expected and as someone said in another thread Suits names now need a major overhaul

Interesting indeed!

Double burst cannon will be very good, it is already underrated. Single deep-striking suits with double or triple fusion guns for anti-armour, if people can spare an elite slot.

Also, I wonder what this will do for missilesides? Considering a double missile-pod puts the same number of S7 shots as the much more immobile Broadside.

Plus, the Farsight bomb got even bombier.

Glad for you mate . The said thread was mad as where the arguments on the no you cannot do that cause it feels side. I feel that the DW assault issue is far more debatable than this and needs an Faq asap.

Of course you could always go 2 missile pod / velocity tracker... not cheap... but less expensive than Rip tides and Broadsides

Is it just me, or (aside from points cost) is there little point to use Weapon + TL Weapon? Running the numbers, you get more average hits and the same chance of not getting any hits regardless of whether you run 3 guns of the same type or 1 and 1 twin linked. It seems to hold true at least at BS3 and BS4.

Is there something I'm missing there?

Missile pods are only assault 2 firing two weapons that's 4 shots plus no SMS. 3 man missileside squad with no drones can put out 24 misses crisis team with dual missile pods only get 12 shots. Missile sides are still the bomb.

Dont forget SMS can still glance AV11, and three missilesides pump out 12 of them all TL'd as well as the 12 TL'd Str7 Ap4 ones. The range is 6" shorter but in the case of fliers theyre usually in range anyway. This is very potent against the Necron Airforce as they are all AV11. I almost feel like i should take Target Locks not Interceptor on them because the SMS also ignore cover so they can take out a flier on their own if lucky enough (and TL tends to let that happen)

I have been running since I got the new codex a commander with two standard burst cannons, shield generator, iridium armour and either Counterfire defence system or stimulant injector.

On my suits I have been running a few dual standard plasma rifles, and they are amazing.

I noticed they FAQ'd disruption pods because of the continuity in the front and back of the book. I wish they would do the same with drone controllers, would be nice to hear if you can make missile drones bs5.

Aside from the fact that you can't shoot 3 weapons, no. Multi-tracker maxes the number of weapons you can fire to two, says so in the FAQ.

This is good news to me. I run two commanders with drone controller, target lock, two marker drones, and attach marker drone squads to them. I was running missile pod +1 other weapon, but now I can just run two missiles. Gives me 4 36" range shots at a different target than what's getting markerlights. Actually helped me out the other night.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."
