hey guys I'm curious if anyone has any awesome stories about a single miniature accomplishing some amazing feats in game. i have three to start off.
The first was during a 2v2 in 5th ed. Dark Eldar and Marines vs. GK(myself) and White Scars. Mid game, casualties were high. A predator annihilator was harrassing us with a squad of marines taking cover behind it. In a moment of intense heroism my ally sends out his bike captain with relic blade in a head on charge at the predator. he scored a pen and an explosion result. the explosion killed the marine squad, the captain was unscathed as he plowed through the exploding tank.
The next was a 3v3 of previous tau, Psuedo deamonhunters list (heavy on the guard allies light on the grey knights stuff, myself) and 6th dark angels vs. chaos marines, dark eldar and tyranids. this happened the bottom of turn 6. I had pretty much been tabled aside from my company command squad a soon to be killed squad of vets and a squad of grey knights. the opposing team had 2 objectives to our 1( not counting slay the warlord and stuff). my CCS was vector striked (vector struck?) by a heldrake killing everyone except my senior officer. unphased by watching his comrades get picked up and dropped to their deaths the CCS pushes ever on. there was a thinned out squad of chaos marines sitting on an objective in a building. the officer moves within rapid fire range and fires his plasma pistol into the building (into the second floor no less). two shots to kills, knocking the squad off of the objective. game ends, minor victory.
and lastly in a 2v2 of nids and chaos vs GK and dark eldar, my terminator with demon hammer single handedly took down a trygon on the turn it charged( might be wrong its the thing that pops up from the ground) and continued on to smack a canrifex in the cloaca turning it into dust.

My base of nurglings once charged a tyranid trygon and survived for a good few turns before actually downing the thing. Was epic to watch. I like to think the Trygon tried to eat one, got poisoned, and died

I once had a Necron Overlord take out a Tervigon, and then the surrounding Nids that survived the synapse feedback. He then went on to survive the battle, despite the fact that I lost overall.
He is easily my favorite model in my display case because of that day.

A swarmlord and Zoanthrope brood that just wouldn't die, the Zoanthropes following him around and casting Endurance on him while he kept on casting Iron Arm and Warp Speed on himself. He killed Abaddon in a challenge and then over the course of six turns wiped out like 2k points of Chaos Space Marines in an apocalypse game as they tried to throw themselves at him to stop him before he fought and brought down An'ggrath in one round on the charge in an Apocalypse game after which my opponent just conceded the game.
I keep him and those three plucky Zoanthropes enshrined in a special case now.
In the same game, my Doom of Malan'tai ate through marine after marine, devouring the tasty souls of the ruinous powers and drinking the delicious tears of Chaos Space Marines, Cultists, the guys from the traitor guard list from FW, and Daemons while lobbing out Cataclysm and slaughtering bunched up units everywhere. Must have accounted for nearly as many casualties as the Swarmlord himself.

A simple, regular, boring dire avenger that was sent out with his squad for cannon fodder against tau, hammer head to one look at it pie plated the squad hitting all of them :( wounded 9 out of 10, leaving one unharmed. The it shot its burst cannons at it. He had to take three saves, passes them all. Then got shot at by a reduced squad of fire warriors, and survived. In the end, I was tabled.... Exept for my dire avenger, who camped on an objective, teing the game.
After that battle I reprinted him and wrote his name on my citadel hall of fame board.
The next battle, he died :(
Oh well.

Casual game in 3rd edition. The SM player brought all the special characters from vanilla SM, BA, and DA dexs. Plus a full command squad. I proceeded to charge them with Bharoth (CWE) in a unit of swooping hawks and ate my way through that entire unit and about ~1500 pts of DAs in that assault phase due to consolidating into combat and getting 70 hits in the first combat (we stopped rolling at 70 as I still had 3 hits to roll).
I had a 5 man DKoK engineer unit survive 4 assault phases against 5 terminators and 5 SM scouts. The first phase 2 were killed and I stayed in. The second phase 1 was killed and I stayed in. The next two phases the watchmaster proceeded to avoid even getting hit. Finally a SM scout managed to kill him. I even managed to kill 1 terminator and 4 scouts in that combat.

Had one in my very first game, actually.
My SoB squad was advancing towards some Dark Angels (played by the manger) through a narrow area, with my Sister Superior on point due to her having a combi-flamer.
However, when it came to the DA's shooting, it transpired that only pretty much only the Superior was in range, The DAs fired, passing most of their hit and wound rolls. The Superior had to make seven armour saves to survive.
And she passed them all! I burst out laughing at that point, just the idea of seven bolter rounds impacting onto her armour and not doing anything was too hilarious.

Ohhh I just had a game against Eldar using my necrons last week, we were playing bases (Mission 5) It had been a pretty entretaining game, but he had killed everything I had except for a doom scythe and a necron lord (Not overlord, just a regular lord) however, the only scoring unit he had was on my side of the board aiming for the objective on my base. It was turn 6, and I charged his dire avengers squad with my lord in an attempt to keep him away from my objective and tie the game. he overwatched and got 3 wounds which my lord saved! then he declined my challenge and all his models got to attack, my lord survived, but was unable to kill anything that turn. we rolled a 6 to go to turn 7, on the final assault phase of the entire game, my lord survived all the dire avenger attacks and killed one of them, they failed leadership and RAN AWAY 6 INCHES putting him just outside my deployment zone and dennying him the linebreaker VP!!!! I won that game because i had first blood and linebreaker (with my doom scythe which jink saved 4 penetrating hits in the last turn) and he had just Slay the warlord!! Needles to say that lord got promoted to overlord, and my opponent was kind enough to give me a spare eldar head he had so I could put it in my Lord's hand!! Best game I've EVER played

My Vulture was shot down by an enemy Quad Gun. As per the rules for Flyers we roll to see where the wreckage lands, which just happened to be on a couple of enemy Scouts holding an Objective. Despite having Camo Cloaks and in forest cover, the crashing Vulture kills the rest of the squad, earning me another Kill Point and freeing up another objective!

In a game today against Blood Angels my Hekatrix with a blast pistol shot a squad of assault marines with a librarian in it. She rolled a six to hit and gained precision shot, so I took a risk and put it on the librarian. I wounded and he failed his "lookout sir!" roll. The strength eight pistol killed him and gained the five strong wych unit a pain token. I then charged and challenged the powersword sergeant with the hekatrix. She cut him down easily with an agonizer.
By the end of the game she would kill a power-fist sergeant in single combat and kill a combat squad of assault marines by herself as well. Her squad single-handedly ground up the heart of the blood angels force I was fighting against and spit them out in bits.

1 of my gretchin watched his mates get slaughtered on the battlefield by some termis.
Next turn, he killed 1, he himself surviving, and watched them flee from him.
Then he shot and killed a Space Marine captain (who was on his last wound, but still)
He managed to survive the entire game, hell I don't think he's ever died once...
He now serves as a Zzap gunner.

Today in the third game of a tournament, my lone surviving mortar fired a shell at a tightly-packed Sisters of Battle squad. It scattered onto my nearby heavy weapons teams, wounding them, and pinning them, preventing them from firing either at the Manticore across the table, or the Sisters immediately in front of them.
Oh wait, you wanted models that did things WELL. Okay. Today my Commissar pushed four Guardsmen in front of him to take bolter shells for him before promptly failing morale and running off-board. You might think this is another case of a model doing poorly, but making that many LOSir saves in a row and then living to fight another day sounds pretty good to me.

I had a Nob leader from a Warbikerz squad dominate in a 2v2 game (Space Marines + Tau vs. Orks and Imperial Guard).
The rest of his squad had died, so I had him charge the Space Marine Land Raider Redeemer that had just dumped a Terminator Squad + Chapter Master out (they were going to assault the Imperial Guard).
First, my ally whittles down the Terminators to 2 models (overwatch and a failed charge) and I succeed in assaulting the Land Raider, but only glance it.
When it's the Space Marine player's turn, he first fires 1 of the AP3 flamers at me. It fails to wound. Then he fires the multi-melta. That fails. Then his Chapter Master fires a combi-melta at me. That fails. Then, his Chapter Master and 2 Terminators charge me (through difficult terrain). The Chapter Master challenges me (mind you, he's got a power fist). In combat, The Nob blows up the Land Raider (the explosion killed 1 Terminator) and then he inflicts instant death on the chapter master. This Nob then goes on to sweep the Terminator, then promptly die in a failed dangerous terrain test on the next turn.
In another game against Chaos Marines, I took Imperial Guard allies. Marbo popped in behind Fabius Bile in a huge blob of marines. 1 Shot killed 13 of them, including Fabius.
In a Vassal 40k game against Tau, I tabled my opponent. How? With basic shooting, every single Tau unit fled off the board. His Riptide kept overheating and getting wounded. When it was the last unit on the board for my opponent, I assaulted it with Meganobz and it died on overwatch!

I had a full group of BA Assault Marines deepstrike behind my lines. I had a small group of 11 devilgaunts stare in horror as they were assaulted in their forest. Then overwatch killed 6 of them. Then, by the end of the second turn in assault, the remaining 4 marines had died, and all termagants were safe and sound. I had to ask my opponent to pick his jaw off the table afterwards, I needed to measure my run distance.

"There is a cancer eating at the Imperium. With each decade it advances deeper, leaving drained, dead worlds in its wake. This horror, this abomination, has thought and purpose that functions on an unimaginable, galactic scale and all we can do is try to stop the swarms of bioengineered monsters it unleashes upon us by instinct. We have given the horror a name to salve our fears; we call it the Tyranid race, but if is aware of us at all it must know us only as Prey."

I have had multiple moments of glory form my Elysian Drop Troops, but this one occured when I took my Elysian list for the very first time :
-This was at a tournament that allowed Forge World and was playing a standard IG Cdoex army with Death Korps models. He had x2 Hydra batteries and was eaglery awaiting the arrival of my Flyers. Realizing the danger I noticed a small hole in his defenses next to his Hydra batteries and one of his Leman Russ tanks. Being the ballsy Drop Trooper player I am I dropped not one, but TWO squads of veterans with Plasma Guns and a demo charge right next to them.
One squad destroyed all x3 Hydras thanks to the demo charge and plasma guns while the other blew up a Demolisher and the shrapnel took out a good chunk of surrounding Death Korps infantry.Needless to say my Flyers and other Veterans came on and I was able to systematically destroy my opponent by turn 4.
In another game against ChaosI had a single Veteran with a Plasma gun who rallied, snap fired and hit a helldrake (the one that wiped out my squad) penned and blew it up!

In the past I used to play Chaos Space Marines. I played against my friend, running Ultramarines. We were playing 'Last Man Standing' (we always did, I don't know why) and I was winning the battle until I ran into his Chaplain. I ran my Khorne Bezerker Squad, Khorne Lord, and a bunch of marines into his Chaplain, the sole survivor of his army. He wrecked everything and a Rhino, rolling 16 straight invulnerable saves on his last wound. Greatest moment in 40King for him and myself
