FInally saw the first video and man that is some terrible painting. I honestly could of done as well when I first started the hobby and I wasn't a very good painter.

Yeah MWG has been doing the slow circle ever since they had to get rid of their store. Matt has also taken a holier than thou attitude since then and the batreps have taken a nose dive. I have to say though the old world wars haven't been half bad.

They are free to express their opinion, they aren't free of any consequences for expressing that opinion.
Decisions have consequences.
Dont you find it a little sad that when a company that has used BTP many times and is happy with their work sides with them for their own reason, suddendly this makes them the bad guy too? In my opinion people are blowing this whole thing waaaay out of proportion, and it just decreases my faith in the community even more.
That said, Im about to place an 800$ painting order on BTP and I know for sure I wont regret it. So have fun talking some more smack while I watch some more MWG and BTP vids, cya guys
Just another troll or maybe its shawn

I finally watched the video and I'm shocked at the results. The fire effect is kinda cool but they look completely unfinished; they've barely even hit the 3 colour minimum standard. I could do better myself and I'm not a good painter, even with 2 hours/mini time budget.
That is my thought there are a lot of good commission painters in europe to use. So my thought is that it is a btp fanboy or employee posing as someone from europe since dakka just lets you choose your flag next to your name.

I wouldn't put the cart out in front of the horse just yet. It may seem like that to us but you will have to convince a judge and possibly a jury of that and that will take time and seeing what shawn is like he will drag it out as long as possible because this could be a death knell to his company.

Actually it's simpler than that. I got enough testimonials and case studies that I no longer needed any more, and most people were focusing on the wrong thing.
We are still going to make a video for Blue Table Painting, just like we do for other painting services who have done great work for us.
It is unfortunate that people took my "only wanting good comments" in the wrong way. I know there are negative experiences out there, but I was only interested in the good ones as I was going to include them in the video.
If I were making a promo video for the MiniWarGaming Vault and wanted testimonials, I wouldn't ask for people to send me their negative reviews, just the positive. This is normal marketing.
To make it clear, I have full confidence in BTP, not just from my own experiences, but from many, many others' as well. They have done nearly 8000 projects, so obviously some people will have had bad experiences, which unfortunately attract more attention than the good ones.
I am going to lock this thread as I am not interested in having it go the way of the threads on other forums that I have seen. I realize some will be offended by this, but that is life.
SIGH.
Of course, how could he see that asking for only good comments would only lead to people taking it the wrong way.

This joker serious? Trolling? I don't get it.
If he is actually from the netherlands and not some north american BTP fanboy maybe he has been hitting the ganj a bit too hard

After the OP said he wouldnt send his models back to evil BTP and asked for a 60% refund instead of the amount that was offered.
You cant say BTP didnt put any effort into fixing this. And you cant say that both parties are working towards a fair solution either. If the OP thinks his way to justice is through the law then he should go ahead with that, but if that fails then I wont be surprised if BTP retracts all of the solutions instead of leaving him one.
They did offer other alternatives, which they prompty withdrew as soon as the OP accepted them. There is no trust here. And the fault lies with BTP. Stop spreading your lies here anonomous BTP employee.
Off topic but I like the guristas profile picture.

This... and I asked weekly to talk to him. Once i got someone on the phone and Said i was promise to talk to the artist and they replied "We never do that, we show the client the army once its entirely done" I sent them the email which said they would and they stated "sorry you misunderstood"
please bear in mind my videos only cover a SMALL amount of the problems as i was trying to remain calm.
Had I been told i cud not speak to the artist or that i cant see Work In Progress pictures i would NEVER have done a commission with them.
can you show us that email where they told you you could talk to the artists?
Im sorry that im asking you for this much "evidence", but having to re-watch a 47 min video just to hear everything again and taking your word for it that its really what everything says. Thats just not how I think these sort of things should go. But Im sure these things will be 100% cleared up once legal action has been taken anyways, so you dont have to show me anything anyways.
The salt is strong in this one

Wait that was a Deathwing? I genuinely thought it was a homebrew chapter that used white armour.
Yeah thats what I thought til I looked at the title. Also the IG sarge is pretty bad too no shading on the body at all

Maybe the successfully pressure people into taking down negative reviews or maybe people don't bother out of shame. Maybe some thing they get a good deal.
Ugh, if it is true that Shawn is sharing private e-mail conversations with other clients that is absolutely disgusting and makes me question his business ethics even more than I have been with this commission.
Thats implying he had any to begin with

Which isn't surprising, not everyone is on dakka or warseerer. I mean I am still subbed to MWG if only for the old world wars videos because ash actually has enthusiasm for the game and I enjoy seeing fantasy bat reps.

1. MWG sent out an email and simultaneously place up a vault member only video requesting positive reviews for BTP about two weeks ago(I think).
2. Many people contacted Matt from MWG assuming he was unaware about the Chaos Dwarf fiasco underway. This was done both via emails and the comments section of the vault member video.
3. Matt from MWG did a sit and talk, and replied to comments in the vault member video showing that he did in fact know about the Chaos Dwarf video. In the Sit and Talk, he even directly addressed it and his tone and what he said implied that when a company was as big and successful as BTP, trolls would always come out and try disparaging them (implying, heavily, that Tenebre is such a troll).
4. Matt then removed the vault member video. Some assumed this was based on a change of heart, however, after being questioned by a vault member on the forum, he replied that the only reason he took it down was because they had enough positive comments and he then locked the thread to stop "negativity".
As far as I know, that's everything from MWG. I've personally quit my vault membership over this, though I don't assume many will. I just found their response on this rather disgusting (thinly veiled blaming of Tenebre).
My own message to Matt via their facebook page,
Hello, I've been a fan of MWG for a while and, being aware of the Chaos Dwarf army issue with BTP. I was a little surprised, and disheartened with the timing of the request to vault members for positive reviews to be sent to MWG as client testimonials for a positive video endorsing BTP. However, I gave MWG the benefit of the doubt and assumed you were not entirely aware of the issue. Then, the commentary in both the Sit and Talk and the comments of the request video made it obvious that you were aware of the issue. I was considering removing myself as a fault member and would have, except I then found you had removed the request video. Assuming this was done due to a change of heart, I held off removing my vault membership while waiting to see what your intent was. However, I just became aware of your recent comment in the MWG forums to the tune of the video only being removed due to the fact you had enough positive feedback now, and that you had locked the thread due to the amount of negative feedback you'd been receiving on the previous request video. I can honestly say this is both disappointing and disillusioning. Previous to this incident, I had considered MWG to be an independent, and intentionally unbiased site that had a love of the hobby I similarly shared a love for. After this, and reading your various comments disparaging the man behind the Chaos Army review, I can no longer support, nor enjoy MWG's content. I am thoroughly disgusted and have removed my vault member subscription from MGW. Yours Sincerely, Sean Martin (Gullinbursti on MWG)
I honestly wonder if matt will even respond, kinda hope he does just to get a better peak into his mind.

BTP's original white knight rears his head again
I have said it before but ill say it again, i do not like what btp produces in regards to painted models. That does mean this has not been completely blown out of proportion.
If a 500 dollar commission got bungled this badly it would deserve the same amount of scorn but not a thread this large. You have to remember this was a 7-9k mistake by btp and their attitude deserves the reaction.

Roughly double the up votes also. I wonder if this will be the most downvoted MWG video, also its funny they will have to keep it up otherwise it shows they are jumping ship on btp.
