Sadly it really does not look like it. The BRB is $140, the little, mini rulebook is $90. I think it may be that GW have just cut the fluff and the background and just squished all the rules into one volume instead of three?

As for the Space Marine Strike Force, well I've just checked the UK website and it's still £140...So I don't think they have lowered prices, no.

I think you will have more chance of capturing Father Christmas himself than GW lowering prices for the festive season

You completely re-edited your post!?

Forget it then....But FWIW I pick The Soul Drinkers....

Went for my Salamanders, but truthfully, I'd like to see 'special treatment' given to lesser chapters like Black Dragons, Storm Giants or (chaos side) Dragon Warriors (like I said: Salamanders fan).

I'm would love to see Angels Encarmine's (BA Successor chapter) fluff developed.

...and you never know I might get it in the BA book when it finally drops.

I would be all over a Crimson Fists supplement if it was released. I love that they are a chapter in the process of rebuilding itself. If they made a book on the 4th Company, they could release a new model for Captain Cortez. As successors of the Imperial Fists, they need a little bit to differentiate themselves from them like their Black Templar counterparts. Of course, if they did that, I wouldn't be able to use the Sentinels of Terra tactics for them, I would have to use whatever that book would have instead. Just as long as they leave Third Company alone, since that is what I decided my army represents.

If they don't do them, I would love to see a Salamanders supplement too. Heck, I would love to see supplement for any of the First Founding C:SM chapters.

Where's the option for "none of the above, space marines already get way too much attention"?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I would love to see a raven guard supplement that maybe can make their lackluster tactic be decent.

Oooo, now that would be interesting. That or replace their tactic altogether with something worthwhile. Of the other FF Chapters, they are the only ones that really need a boost rather than just a different option.

I think GW should have paid more attention to Black Templars.
Sub summing them into the vanilla SM codex has been a bad move.

why? because They can do a lot more for a sneaky army than the codex can imho.

and by more attention i mean not have them be a redshirt army where they suffer horrible losses in every piece of fluff outside of the little codex timeline they have

Ultramarines. Seriously. I want to know more about them, particularly as their timeline only really starts at the Battle for Macragge in 745M41. Who were their previous chapter masters? Major battles? Relations with other Chapters? All we really know about them are they are blue, have a mini-empire, follow the Codex (though deviate since Macragge) and the Spiritual Liege crap. All we have are recent history and battles which are pretty much the same.

None of the above. GW needs to give more attention to nonhuman armies.

Ultramarines.

They suffered more than any other army when everything that made them unique in the Ultramarines Codex back in the day became "generic" stuff that any Space Marine Chapter could take (starting with that thieving Angels of Death Codex that looted the UM for units).

I like the idea of making a create your own chapter with options of benefits and negatives to choose from. Say for example you get 15 points on a set of charts with each bonus costing points and negatives giving positives.

Stuff like this has been tried before and was easily abused by players taking negatives that were not REALLY negatives at all or which never came into play or cherry picking different ones based on tailoring.

So I'm not sure how it could be done but if it could be done in a fair manner, I'd rather that then spending more time on the normal chpters or derivations of them.

Ultramarines have gotten enough attention.
I think in 4th ed it has been possible to make your own DIY chapter with your own traits.

I couldnt remember the edition. At one time you could do it with guard too.
I'll admit, I was guilty of cherrypicking the good stuff and taking bad stuff that didnt affect me anyway. Since then, I have upped my game to where I can win without such tricks but still like the idea of that sort of custimization which is why I like the idea of finding a fair way to do it again that isnt as abusable.

No, they really don't. Think about it, what actual fluff is there besides generic company level battles, the current characters and 1 major battle in 745M41? Nothing, that's what. As opposed to Imperial Fists, Black Templars, Crimson Fists, Salamanders, Iron Hands, Raven Guard, Blood Angels, Space Wolves and Dark Angels. Who have everything possibly different to Cookie Cutter discussed to death in their fluff.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Yes.

This.

I mean they have a whole RPG about them, they offer some unique modelling opportunities and an elite special forces type army.

But no... nothing since 3rd edition.

Because GW hates us almost as much as they hate money.

Which is why I would like to see it revamped to make such abuses impossible (or at least so minor as to not make a difference)
The idea of custimization appeals to a lot of players instead of having to stick with a cookie cutter generic marines or vampire marines or flamer dude marines......
I'm not asking for the abusable system we had before. If you notice, I specifically stated that I do not want it to be abusable. Not only would it make a large current fan base happy but could even draw in new players.
