So the new Space Wolves stuff is now up for preorder on the GW UK site, and will soon be on the shelves, then on to your craft table. Now, the current Space Wolves codex was released in August 2014, at the same time as the current Grey Knights codex. From what I have heard from those well versed in 40k lore, the Grey Knights play a sizeable role in the Space Wolves fluff, at least where it concerns Daemons.
My question is, given this relationship and the fact that both codices were released simultaneously, are there any rumors regarding a Grey Knights release in the near future?

I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you

What about ORKS would be the question. Grey knights pfft

on a more serious note nope haven't seen any rumor. Those "rumors" of today are just marketing techniques. I haven't seen a actual leak in quite a while.

Yeah, I'm not expecting anything. I actually found it unbelievably surprising when this new Space Wolves stuff was announced. I mean, there are still several armies that have yet to see a 7th edition release.

What about those poor chaos spiky boyz with their burning trukk of a codex that has so many bad random result tables that it makes an Ork blush . Guard and codex flyrant a need 7th edition release as well.

Digging deep into the "Eventual Disappointment Bag" but it would be really cool of GW to have the Grey Knights, Sisters, Deathwatch, and Inq all released/updated around the same time as an Agents of the Imperium themed release.

So you are getting only new, extra stuff over all the cool stuff you already have, and you are still complaining?

It's want Marine players do best!

Overall the Daemon part of the campaign is mostly gak... The Slaany formations are decent enough, and overall the new Relics are mostly good.

The Psychic powers are a mixed bag. Tzeentch is still easily one of the game's worst psychic lores... Nurgle got a couple decent new powers, and Slaanesh can potentially wreck face.

The Daemoncurion has frankly awesome bonuses!
Unfortunately the basic costs to run it are astronomical, especially for Khorne & Tzeentch, that it's pretty much only playable in 2k+ sized games.

None of our actual issues or problem units got any kind of a fix... (Skarbrand for example is still the worst model in the game, Horrors are still better at flipping battle tanks than casting actual magic, Exalted Flamers still can't be upgraded, etc...)
The new relics won't help us much, and we're still pigeonholed into Summon Spam or Flying Circus lists. The only 'new' change might be seeing some Slaany Daemoncurion, because they at least only need 6 units to run their formations. (meanwhile, Tzeentch needs 9!!)

Well at least we have Dark Eldar rumours now.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Whats did you expect? Daemons are merely NPC for the campaign just like Imperial Guard was with Tau. Astra, Orks, Daemons, Chaos, Tyr, Dark Eldar and CSM need Ă  new codex. Only adding a detachment won't cut it they were already behind in power level before Necron/Eldar/Space Marine and Tau detachment.

There are many factions that really need an overhaul. Grey Knights are not one of them.
Also, personally, I really dislike the Grey Knights as a seperate codex. The Grey Knights are just too small and limited as a faction to be a full-fledged, interesting codex. I'd much rather see them as part of a larger Inquisition codeŃ…, along with the Deathwatch and Sisters of Battle.

Excuse me new dark Eldar rumors what??

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

I don't mind that Grey Knights are fleshed out into a full army now... But if GW is going to let the cat out of the bag so to speak, then for gak's sake do it properly!!

Give the Grey Knights their Chaplain as an added HQ option, specialised Land Speeders & Jetbikes to continue playing up the their imagery of getting all the oldest & most sacred wargear.
Add in a Servitor based unit that can help with fire support, etc...

I don't like the idea of them getting jet bikes, that's a dark angels thing. If they are to be fleshed out more I'd prefer it be similar to ad mech and be kits and wargear that no one else has

They will never be updated again. NEVAR!!! Same with Blood Angels. They're being Sister'ed.

I mean, look... they just done Wolves, so they'll pivot to something else, and then later in the year come back with some other Astartes goodness, at least twice with something significant, and probably at least twice more with something minor (like the BA chaplain model at the end of last year). Maybe we'll see the command Land Raider and Rhino as things we can actually buy this year

These campaign books seem to be like gold for them: it's like selling a codex, except not many people cry "now my codex is outdated!", so if I had to guess, I'd say there will be a GK and a BA campaign book in the not too distant future. Maybe even both this year! But what do I know.

New and extra I guess, but when the models are cartoony and lame in comparison to the 15 year-old Eye of Terror campaign minis I'd scarcely call it a victory. Frankly I would have rather had nothing than these He-Man monstrosities.

Why nothing? You can convert your own and you'll have what are easily okay rules.

And people haven't seen how Wulfen work beyond math-hammer, as force-multipliers. I'm actually thinking they might be terrific in the right lists.

Hmm, fair point. I just loved the older models and now wish I had gotten some. The way these new things look, I wouldn't be surprised if the metals become more sought-after.

Grey Knights arguably need it more because of both limited choice and terrible internal balance.

Id give it to chaos space marines needing the a redo the most. Their model line is aged, the book has some of the worse internal and external balance in the game and doesn't represent the army well.

Well that's as much a given as Sisters. Nobody cares at this point though it seems.

I'm a GK player, but I'd rather see updates (actual updates, not secondary books etc) for:

Chaos Space Marines
Orks
Tyranids
Imperial Guard (secondary book for Catachan maybe?)

Then a combined Codex (or more likely seperate codex for each knowing GW), under the title "The Inquisition":

Grey Knights (Ordo Malleus) - focus on old heresy era tech.
Deathwatch (Ordo Xenos) - focus on new era tech.
Sisters of Battle (Ordo Hereticus).

+ Characters from the Ordos Minoris.
+ Assassins from Officio Assassinorum (+ some of the other smaller factions).

They could be standalone, allied to other Imperium factions or combined. It would be a very open codex.

Wishful thinking, I know.

It shouldn't have to be wishful thinking. Logic should not be a rarity for a consumer business like GW.

Iol, would have loved to get just additional ugly models and lots of extra buffs & special rules instead of the last codex update.

Yeah, I was gonna say. GW can feel free to toss the Blood Angels that horrible treatment they gave to the Space Wolves any time Some plastic characters, 3-ish not-bad models out of a 5-model box of elites that actually have good rules, some insanely good formations... yes, they can go and turn Captain Tycho into the Phantom of the Opera wearing a tutu for all I care.

On a more on topic note I would not be surprised if GK and perhaps even INQ got some formation in the second and third book.

Well, last year GW updated the two 2013 Space Marine Codexes (C:SM and DA). This year, they have already started out with one of the 2014 Space Marine Codexes. That leaves Blood Angels and Grey Knights. For selfish and unselfish reasons, I hope that if only one of those two gets updated this year, that it is the Blood Angels. Grey Knights seem like they would be best if released at around the same time as Chaos Space Marines (now that Space Wolves stole their opportunity to be released alongside Chaos Daemons). Since CSM are supposed to be coming next year, I would think either GK late this year or early next year. This all assumes that GW is going to continue releasing codexes and updates around campaign events. So far, we have had two campaigns lately (Tau v. Raven Guard/White Scars/Astra Militarium and Space Wolves v. Chaos Daemons). I wouldn't expect GW to change that pattern as it must have been lucrative.

I can see it now... Next year's supposed Chaos Marine release will see the gutting of our current codex and a shift back to simplified rules.
For models, we'll get 2 brand new units - one for each Khorne & Nurgle. However, Finecast will be scrapped entirely, necessitating the removal of Noise Marines, Plaguemarines, Havocs, Oblits & Mutilators from the codex. Chosen will not get a kit and so will be dropped as well.

As a Chaos player, you learn to set your expectations as low as possible - the only things we've had for decade now is a healthy does of bitterness with a heaping pile of massive disappointment.
