Well, GK will not be rereleased this years. Why should they? They have a playable codex, especially if you add allies.

The same thing could have been said about Eldar and Tau getting 7e codexes despite having 6e codexes. Instead, we got cheese with a side cheese. Having a playable codex or a recent release doesn't seem to put a stop to a new codex being released.

If you want “nothing”, play Sisters. We'll see how long it takes for “nothing” to loose its appeal…

Eldar and Tau seem to sell well. I think GK's are not that interesting.

I don't think that we should think of the next "GK release" as a codex release, nor in the terms of who needs it.
What we should think of is what fits in their campaign book and how much pages are they willing to dedicate to it.
They could just dedicate ~ 10 pages in campaign book and release 2 new small kits / character models in order to get a serious interest spike in GK again.
Because in the end that is what it is all about. Getting us to like our armies again in such a way that we would concider buying jus those few models we would need for those detachments. Who knows they could just make a thematic purge the corrupted detachment.
consisting of Inq HQ + GK and Inq formations on top of some extra formations for dark eldar.

Most GW Campaign books suddenly introduce an other faction later in the story. So far we have Daemons and Space wolves. Including Dark angels, Inquisitors and Grey knights would not be such a stretch if you look at the fluff and the potential in sales. .

Agreed. I am hoping the fact that Blood Angels sell pretty well (I thought their Tactical Squad was in the top 10 selling GW kits last year) will help make sure they get some love soon.

Not sure about BA. But GW ruined the market for the Tactical squad when the HH board game came out last November.
Thirty Marines for an apple and an egg. And if you want more, buy some from ebay.

Absolutely. Though the BA Tactical Squad does come with the coveted Heavy Flamer. Does it trump dirt cheap Marines? That is a matter of opinion. But if BA can make it into the Top 10 selling kits (which conveniently didn't include Board Games...) despite have gak rules, they might see something down the line.
