Hi,

I am new to this forum and have just launched a site which produces high quality modelled and painted boards:

http://www.wargamingboards.com

The idea is to do some standard boards and also offer more complex custom boards on request – if you’re interested let me know. The site is in the early stages of development, but I will be adding more photographs of a bigger variety of wargaming setups as time goes on.

I have also added a couple of pictures of one of the boards to this post.

Thanks for looking – please do share my site with others and any feedback would be most welcome!

They look really nice, but I gotta tell you it's a hard sell for me seeing they're at a higher price point than even the GW boards.

Thanks for taking a look and for the feedback.

I know what you mean about cost, but my intention is that the boards are fully modelled and painted and ready to play, as opposed to the GW boards that are just unpainted grey plastic. Each one is unique and felt backed for table protection etc.

There are guys on ebay selling boards for as much as £600 and sites out there doing one 2 x 2 square for £800-£1500, so my thinking was to pitch lower but at a point that reflects the quality, build cost and time taken to produce, without pitching as crazy high as that. I understand £300-£350 still sounds high, but I don't want to undermine what I'm trying to present as a high quality product. Cheaper boards than this on the web seem to either look poor or have bases made of polystyrene.

Thanks again and please keep the feedback coming. I'll welcome whatever people have to say and will take it on board.

Ah, I didn't know they were fully painted and ready to go as I just looked at the pictures. Well, they definitely look good and I wish you good luck.

That's really excellent for the price I think, very solid looking. If I ever have the £££ I'll look you up for an Epic (6mm) scaled board.

Also expect this thread to be moved to News and Rumours, all the new shop / new product threads are in there.

Good luck!

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Very nice idea, and am sure there is a space in the market for things such as this.

Darkjim - love the idea of the themed 6mm board!

Might also be worth hitting some other, historical-themed forums and wargaming conventions/shows if you aren't doing so already, get the retired guys who want something for their 15mm Napoleonics and the like I hear are the big $$ !

Thanks for the tip Pacific, I will certainly have a look at the idea of historical boards as well.

Darkjim - Looks like it has been moved like you said! Cheers for the heads up. Let me know if you want that Epic board and I will see what I can do.

Please do share the site around as well - it is early days but I am going to be updating things regularly so keep checking back.

All the best!
