So Shadowspear looks like it's bringing us not only some new P-Marines, but perhaps a vehicle as well! So let's theorize on what it is because well, do you really intend on working today?

Yeah me either.

I think the new vehicle will be a Landspeeder equivalent, perhaps a multipart kit that can build a 'storm' version as well. I think such a vehicle would likely be to transport the new Eliminator Marines which have already been previewed. I think this would be a great addition to the line and give Primaris Marines a big mobility boost.

Thoughts?

I would actually start to consider using Primaris Marines if the new vehicle is in fact a speeder than can be made as a light transport.

I say flyer, because there is a high wing flyer variant on the cover of Urban Conquest. Looks kind of like a Ravenwing dark talon, but it's blue.

I think it could be like a cross between a LSS and a Razorback in that it could be used to transport 5 models of any Primaris type, except Gravis and Jump Packs of course.

But even if it's not, a Primaris Landspeeder would be damn cool.

Well that tiny black blob on the same cover turned out to be a giant hell spider so... That is a viable basis for the flyer theory! I'll have to have a look at that again.

I assume this is sarcasm, but just in case it is not... It's a stormhawk interceptor

A blue square blurr in a picture that BOLS suggests is proof of a vehicle.

More than that.

It also has the new Vanguard "troopers" front and center in the art.

For some reason I'd like to think it's a larger jetbike. Something almost like an Dark Eldar Venom, just blockier with more Imperial looks.

so basicly a land speeder?

IMHO something like a land speeder storm for primaris would be INSANELY popular. assuming it wasn't over gunned (and thus over pointed) it' become the "go to" for primaris transport

Oh yeah, those blue guys...

Sorry, CSM at heart. I just zoomed in on the spider blob.

That blue flying blob though, that could be a Stormtalon. Or even an Interceptor? It looks pretty blocky to me.

What if the new vehicle is like a mishmash of several concepts from the SM line? Primaris needs a traditional flyer, a transport, speeders and bikes. So right away they should just do bikes as a seperate awesome thing. But all those other things could be wrapped up in what would basically amount to a flying Razorback. Like the Valkyrie for the Guard, sorry Astra Militarum. God, no wonder my spell checker is so bloody confused.

I actually LIKE the repuslor, I dont know why, I get kind of a Bradley vibe to it and I also enjoy the MASSIVE amount of firepower it can dish out, especially with the new bolter rules.

I would very much like to see something along the lines of a "hover rhino" or at least an upscaled Land Speeder storm with 5 man capacity and some decent guns, maybe some more onslaught cannons (I live me some onslaught cannons, so versatile!). Really I would want something light to get some primaris around the field because it really can't be too armored otherwise it fully replaces the Repulsor so it should be a bit on the weak end (maybe T5 or 6, 8 wounds) and be just enough for you to drop off your special characters or drop in some hellblasters or intercessors or those new scouts on target.

Well there is that, but the new Shadowspear set has already previewed some stuff for the Chaos side too. Based on what was shown, new Obliterators and a spider-walker type demon engine, it feels safe to say they would include something similar for the Marine side.

My biggest issue with the repulsor is it's to big/blocky to be a true tank IMHO but way to over gunned to be a transport. It's a look at me I can do everything American military solution to a problem that cost so much it gets cancelled before being finished, (marine EFV)

But I might also be overly opposed to thing's that just look so wonky next to sicarans.

I personally think we'll get bikes in Shadowspear too, along with whatever light vehicle is included. But I may be wishlisting.

I agree with the Onslaught cannons. Bucket loads of dice is always fun. I hope whatever it is, it has Onslaught cannons.

For some reason, I just cannot see Primaris ever getting individual bikes. They're just too big. I could see a light speeder with 1-2 Primaris on it, but not bikes. Something in between and Attack bike and a Land speeder, but with Primaris

That straight line across the top suggests the wings don't drop the way the high wing imperial flyers do. The interceptor engine pods are not visible, but maybe it's an artifact of the picture compression.

I don't think an overly cumbersome look bothers GW too much. I could see them getting some big gnarly bikes, I mean they slapped jetpacks onto Gravis dudes. Maybe they'll be flying bikes, with big blocky skid plates instead of wheels?

It would be nice if White Scars had something more than Inceptors to use their tactic on...

I would actually like to see something along the lines of the 2 man Hover Bike from the movie The Island. It had a pintle mounted cannon on a floating seat hanging off the back of the bike. You can easily arm it with an Onslaught Cannon or a plasma cannon (maybe even a lastalon?) for some nice versatile fire support. it would also hearken back to the Rogue Trader speeders where the marines basically were hanging out and barely secured onto an engine while also incorporating Cawls clean new design paradigms. This also goes well with Primaris marines being all about close fire support and shoring up weaknesses in things like anti-horde and anti-tank.

I'm also having fun imagining said flying block bikes plowing into enemy squads and squishing them with their grav plates.

Same thought I have on everything Primaris GW released, more models that I have no interest in and are not needed when so much of their model range needs a face lift. If it's anything like the other Primaris vehicles, it'll be boxy, over costed and have to many guns.

yeah people keep talking about bikes but IMHO inceptors fill the exact same role in a Primaris army that bikes do.

Anyone else think a helicopter type flier would be pretty cool? Has transport capacity, but also a pretty solid fire support platform.

I can appreciate that as someone who has tried to build an Eldar army without finecast. Also realized the thickness of my rose tinted glasses when I picked up a box of Khorne Bezerkers last year. However, I think there is hope yet as all this new Primaris stuff is coming in a box full of updated CSM models.

With them drawing on old RT designs of late, an ornithopter would be interesting. But at some point, they’ll need bike units for White Scars and Ravenwing, at least.

I personally wish they’d just open Rhinos and Land Raiders to Primaris - I already do in my games and wish it’d become official.

I can see why they didn't want Rhinos to be able to transport Primaris, the model looks like it hardly fits five guys in it! But the Land Raider? Yeah that has to be able to transport Primaris. Same with the Storm Raven.

Yup, they totally look like vanguards except for exceptionally minor details, such as reiver assault squad marking, compared to vanguard troop one, reiver grenades on chest, which vanguards lack, especially the shock ones that are exclusive to one squad in the entire GW range (no points for guessing which one), reiver skull bottom half of the helmet, which vanguards don't have either, as both masks and helmets they have are very different, reiver bolt carbines, as opposed to vanguard rifles, reiver belly plates, reiver chest emblems with swords as opposed to vanguard bones, reiver style pouches, or you know, shouting guy being 100% reiver head copy-paste, yup, they are totally not just standard reivers and are 999% vanguards despite looking literally nothing like vanguards from Spear art
