A thread to put up all the stuff we see that isn't of interest to us specifically, but is mislabelled/less than obvious and might be to someone else on the forum!
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warhammer-40-000-loads-of-bits-Meal-and-plastic-figures-paint-and-books/192910859395?hash=item2cea621c83:g:Y0EAAOSwXdpc0xtO
First up is a trove of older bitz and pieces. The keener eyed will spot the single metal Valhallan, along with techpriest pieces, metal apothecary, and sundry characterful older Ork bits.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warhammer-games-workshop-Figures-ref-421/264314543996?hash=item3d8a5fdf7c:g:BsAAAOSwmq9c0sKH
Single squad of poorly labelled Khorne Bezerkers, currently on a quid. I doubt anyone else would spot them as such, but a bargain if anyone wants a cheapo squad.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Collection-Mixture-Of-Games-Workshop-Warhammer-Figures-Plastic-Metal-949/173898443875?hash=item287d27ac63:g:TSoAAOSwfxtc1IXS
Charity hodgepodge pile of old Warhammer Fantasy Orcs and Empire.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HUGE-MIXED-bundle-AIRFIX-warhammer-figures-ARMY-tanks-SOLDIERS-1000-joblot/113741469103?hash=item1a7b8515af:g:sBwAAOSwHSVcwxDy
Huge pile of old plastic army men and some airfix stuff. Lots of little tanks and the like which might be of interest.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WARHAMMER-different-figures/283482288237?hash=item4200dc706d:g:Cv0AAOSwzL1cxaYc
Dwarves and lots of them. An unopened blister of Slayers and several other metal chaps mean this lot might be worth a look even at the twenty pound price tag.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warhammer-40k-Astra-Militarum-Scrounger-oop-Plus-13-Other-Figures/163685705131?hash=item261c6da5ab:gkkAAOSwq8tc1yOi
An old poorly painted set of Schaeffers Last Chancers. Might be worth a soak in a Dettol bath.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/47-Number-Warhammer-40K-metal-chaos-Figures-OOP/163685597437?hash=item261c6c00fd:g:5e0AAOSwablc1wb9
A collection of metal Chaos stuff, including a Daemon Prince, some older marines, Epic Magnus, and some characterful older plague marines.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/81-Number-Warhammer-40k-army-metal-painted-figures-mixed-lot-OOP/163685473331?hash=item261c6a1c33:g:eZ0AAOSwIJRc1sQx
A LARGE collection of older Necromunda, Mordheim, 40K and other stuff. Thickly caked in old paint and sold as a lot. Could easily be salvaged though as it's all metal!
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warhammer-40k-Tau-Empire-Old-School-Metal-Models/202677469433?hash=item2f3084c0f9:g:gfAAAOSwAHhc2Gtl
I've no idea what these are, but they're a quid and certainly not Tau. So this one might be a treasure or a miss.

Hey, you can find some good deals on Ebay from time to time! I literally just picked up a warhammer case, plastic Giant, an undercoated Ogre Kingdoms battleforce, a sealed pack of movement trays, a dice cube, and a metal Ogre Kingdoms hero for five quid! Another time, I picked up a pair of NIB Ork and SM battleforces for twenty five.
You just have to keep your eyes peeled in the right places/ways for mis/underlabelled stuff. But I often see a lot of stuff that I don't want whilst sifting auctions, so I figured I might as well start posting that stuff up here (so my fellow Dakaites can grab a bargain or two). I might still keep back the sweetest ones for myself though....

Depends, spelling errors is one:
Eg Slaanesh becomes Slanesh, Slannesh, Slaanesh
Another is generic names like "miniature warrior" or "warhammer metal" "Metal model" etc...
Basically you're either thinking of generic not- gw or official names and/or spelling mistakes that might be easily made. You're basically hunting for mistakes and those who don't know what they are selling. That said getting a case and models and more for £5 is nuts!

There are ways and means, but it basically involves custom tailoring specific searches to exclude the most common words, putting together other ways of describing warhammer that don't involve common keywords, and generally doing a lot of scrolling.

What's also a good skill is figuring out silhouettes of out of focus metal miniature photos. I've bought a lot of Squats based on murky photos of horribly painted metal minis, just cross-referencing the photos in various catalogues until I found a shape that matched.

Ah, if only the shipping to my country wasn't seventy-five dollars...
That's sadly very common, almost all of these great deals are going to be in-country purchases. You're vanishingly unlikely to get both bargain basement prices and reasonable international shipping.

Nice catch! They've got a shockingly large amount of similar stuff for other games (star wars, roleplaying, etc) listed too. Were it in my neck of the woods, I'd be all over it!

Shipping is important to keep an eye on - many Ebay stores can appear to have a really good deal or low price UNTIL you add the postage charge ontop. Even within the same country the postage can be quite a bit higher than normal. Typically the added postage brings the product up to its "normal" market value so the store is just trying to be cheeky and appear to be cheaper when its not.
Though a couple have really insane high prices on postage.

A Warhammer giant, something in a blister pack (can't tell what), some ruins, a NIB SM Bike, and various odds and sods (I spy a leman russ track!) on a charity auction.

Most of the times I look for stores that haven´t specified shipping location but just selected default (most of the times this is in the UK). So while at first glance it says UK only they will usually ship within EU and at very fair prices.

Its really had to predict what will be a bargain or not, usually there are like 20 other guys on each auction thinking they will get it and all bid at the same time during the last minute.

Exactly. Chances are if you've seen it, somebody else has. My best bargains have come from charity shops where the staff don't know the value of what they've got.
Still, this is a good resource. If I see anything interesting, I'll post it here.

That's usually the case for normal items (got to love snipe bidders, eh?). But the point here is that we're sharing stuff that won't have twenty five snipers waiting in the wings, because it's been mislabelled or poorly listed (which weeds out 99% of potential bidders). Someone after Schaeffers Last Chancers for example, would never spot the lot I've got posted up top because it has none of the appropriate keywords.
That being said, it's possible that there'll now be half a dozen Dakka browsers waiting in the wings to snipe once we've posted the links in here. But given that's somewhat the point of the thread, you can't really complain about that.

A lot of the ridiculous international shipping is because the seller (like me) doesn't actually ship international, but they use the eBay international shipping program. What eBay does is charge some figure for shipping, and adds on my domestic shipping. I ship it to eBay, who handles it from there.
I only offer it because there are international bidders willing to pay the crazy price, but I don't set it. If I had my way, I'd only ship in the US.

Interesting mixed lot. Cards for Warhammer 4th edition, Epic, Space Crusade and 40k 2nd edition. Floor tiles for Warhammer Quest (I think). Plus card buildings for Epic and Warhammer/Mordheim. Plus lots of Warhammer miniatures.

A painted set of Chapterhouse Studios Blood Angel Truescale Kit! I swear they didn't sell many of these before they shut up shop, so if you do Blood Angels and want Primaris, they're certainly worth a look. Easily stripped down to make yourself a few copies for a larger army too.
