Good news for all.

Some changes that stood out at a glance:

-Sagittarum are now troops.
-Caladius tank went up 10 points

Oh nice.

I still don't rate Saggitarum, but at least in Troops you can take them and not feel too bad about it.

10 points is getting off very lightly for the Caladius, it is still excellent value.

So the Caladius is still under costed, I guess FW haven't got rid of all of their stock yet? A 10 pt increase is a joke.

The most popular Caladius and Telemon loadouts have been double-dip nerfed - more points and lower strength on their better weapons. But the anti-tank caladius has been buffed.

The Orion and aquilon terminators went up. Venatari are cheaper, as are sagittarum(and more powerful, and troops),

Still not seeing the point of the galatus as a unit, and there are new points for a weapon that doesn't exist (the twin infernus incinerator). Power talons are still pointless and the special spear weapons can't be mixed into normal squads.

It's gone from strength 8 to strength 7, so a flat 1/6th reduction in firepower against most targets.

Telemon also came off poorly with it's twin lascannon profie dropping from S9 to S8 and losing half it's range (for +5 points per gun). The close combat unit cost is down though.

Oh I didn't see the S change on the tank... Yeah, that's a fairly big nerf. Stops it being anywhere near as effective against proper armour.

Wow, both the sagittarum guys and the custodian guards armed with meltas and adrasite guns have moved to troops.
Being able to take effective ranged weaponry on troops seems like a big deal for the army.

With the earlier beta rules they seemed to very intentionally restrict that stuff to elites.

The sagittarum guys are actually 2 points cheaper than the basic troops with spears you get in the codex. While being basically equipped with a combi heavy bolter. No melee weapon though unless you pay an extra 4 points.
I think these guys might now be the troops of choice.

Being able to take along a troop unit armed with meltaguns for only a few points more per model than what you currently pay for master crafted bolt guns should certainly help out the army with its anti-tank problem too.

VS marines, transports, knights - anything T4, 7, or 8 which is the majority of targets in most games. I suspect they will fade away from tournament appearances.

Don't read just the headline before coming to a knee-jerk conclusion.

No no no this is avout FW rules, Knee-jerk then foam at the mouth grumble about FW being Pay to win, then ignore the additional information when it's pointed out.

This thread seems pretty reasonable so far...

That said I do think the Ares is maybe a wee bit undercosted.

The Galatus not getting an increase on the Strength of its melee attacks really baffles me. It really feels lacking next to any other option the Custodes have.

So Far being the key statement. But yes so far it's been better than most threads about FW rules.

So it's 415 with the weapons, but it's over 500 with Shipping....

Not really. Its firepower is decidedly mediocre for Knight-equivalent platform.

A knight with -1 to hit. It savages anything T7 and below - with or without an invuln as it basically hits and wounds on 2s and strips most armor on top of super reliable damage.

Not to mention the bombs.

I'd wager (if people can afford it) that at least one in a list would be quite popular.

The caladius is still going to rip my DDAs apart at the same rate as before. S8->S7 = is 0,8x dmg vs t4, 0,75 vs T7, 0,67 vs T8, 0,83 is never the case.

Super reliable damage when shots go through, but hilariously paltry shot volume. Scragged wound rolls and invuln plinks make the damage variance extreme.

Yea, I won't put it past dice totally messing with it. I think the price will be the biggest barrier so we'd likely only ever see one anyway.

I love all the D3+3/6 damage. It's good to see all the reliance on volume of fire going away by enhancing what should be consistently damaging weapons.

Amsuingly enough, necron quantum shielded units are hilariously resistant to this thing.

On moon miranda.

The Sagitarrum being Troops is awesome, that I think is going to break open Custodes build options in a big way. Love those guys.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Interesting....

A bit hard to find if you try to find it yourself:

Only the new Ares seems to provide a link to the new rules download.

The downloads section of FW still has, and the others models link to the beta rules...

I'm happy that adrasite no longer gets hot, I like the move to Troops for the Saggitarii and Adrasite/Pyrithite Guard, and I'm happy with the buffs to the Caladius' Arachnus turret; I'm still kind of disappointed in the Contemptors.

A unit of aquilon custodians has more wounds, then a same power points costed unit of termintors, hits on +2 in melee and shoting, are str 5 on main stats. Those are some really powerful units. Ton of options too. weapons seem brutal too 2 shots with str 5 ap 3 and D3, is crazy good beats out even 5 stormbolters with str 5 ap1.

Well at least they don't have an invunerable save, so there is that, and can't stop psychic powers.

Caladius is still quality for it's cost. Very efficient and reliable.
