As per the title.

As a returning player im looking at expanding my models....but interested when these Xmas deals they apparently do come out?(and do they announce them ahead of release?)

Last year's leaked in early November. There's been some rumours about this year's, but nothing concrete, I think if they keep a lid on it they'll be announced in mid/late November. They'll get a bit of hype and a week's pre-order like just about any other release.

Late November is when they usually come out, preordering in middle of November.

First week of November is usually when the leaks happen as the shops will get the GW 'wishlist' books around then.

If it's in a boxed set, there's a discount built in. They're getting a little bit lighter on the discounts, admittedly, but when a few of the boxes had a couple hundred dollars in savings on new kits I can't say I am surprised.

It's the one-click bundles that basically never have discounts(notable exception: the 3 pack of Vypers is $75 while Vypers are $35 each..).

The christmas bundles are usually the best value box sets you can get for any army with discounts up to 50% off.

Typically they are a better % savings than the start collecting boxes, but they cost more money. They're also a helpful choice if your faction doesn't have a SC box, or if you don't love the contents of your faction's box.

There's a GW manager's meeting next week and we should see them after that.

Hoping there will be a tyranid box of some sort.

Nice, not done 40k for several decades but kept in touch with some of the lore...and love tyranids so really fancy a box.

they're just discount boxes. no new rules. but they're a great place to start a new army.

Typically only discount boxes, usually some have great model selections whilst others aren't quite as good. Not every factions gets an Xmas bundle, the ones that do vary from year to year.

As I understand it BTW, the rumor is that CSMs aren't getting a discount box this year, but GW's putting out a CSM start collecting box that has the CSM contents of shadowspear out. (likewise vanguard marines get a SC box with their stuff in it) but I might be wrong here.

I just think that maybe with some inqusition stuff being in the next month WD, the boxs could have updated GK. Specially as GK don't have a start collecting box, and I don't think we got a christmas box 2 years ago, and definitly didn't get one last year.

so a CSM bundle in addition? colour me intrigued

The exact wording was "Chaos", but it was specifically called out as 40k--there's not really a place for a Daemons bundle in AoS since they're all with specific factions so it's a good and reasonable guess that it would be Chaos Marines--especially as it could be a rebadged version of the Apocalypse box.

A SW & a BA box is surprising. Unless it's a few primaris units + some upgrade sprues :/

I would put good money on it being exactly that - very similar to the Ultramarine and Imperial Fist boxes from last Christmas.

Looking back at WarCom, last year the first preview was 28/10/2018.

Im actually very excited re these box announcements...20+ years away from 40k and I will finish the Dark Imperium painting this weekend(just the 3 flying marines to do)....and itching to buy something else....but holding off till these announcements.

Hoping so badly for a nice Tyranid box and looking at last years announcements....some nice terrain would be handy too!!

There's another rumour floating around that one of the SM boxes is actually Salamanders.

Here's a thought, what if it's black templars and it's the only way to get their upgrade sprue right away. seems crazy but it took GW close to a year to release the Imperial Fists upgrade sprue seperately
