We put the contents of the Battle for Singapore starter set on the table for a game, and we were not disappointed.
An immensely fun system with engaging, interactive rules and fantastic models.
I ran the crown. We called it a draw round three, as I needed to get some sleep.
More pics to come

It's written by James Hewitt (Adeptus Titanicus, Necromunda 2017, Fallout Factions and other hits) so it's pretty slick, albeit you might have to get used to some things that aren't immediately intuitive (like, individual bases are removed as a unit takes damage, but its firepower stays the same until it's wiped out)
And, based on Warcradle's previous games, you can expect regular rules updates - so regular in fact that I've grown frustrated with them as you need to check for changes every time you play and with Armoured Clash only being out in the wild for a couple of weeks, they already changed some basic stuff like how tank sponsons work.

The core is build around each unit being a light target, heavy target or aerial target. Your attack is based on the type of unit you wish to attack and not every unit can attack every type of target.
The way you resolve the attacks, is with proprietary dice (that you get plenty of in the sets tbh). Your attack pool depends on the number of models in the attacking unit and the type of attack they perform. If you have certain advantages in your attack (such as standing still to aim, being in short range), you can reroll more of bad results on those dice... If you have more disadvantages (enemies are in cover/behind other troops or the attacking unit has been supressed) you cannot reroll any dice.
Morale is done through a deck of cards whenever a unit loses models, but models do not flee the battle instantly. Units just become less effective (cannot perform both move and attack for instance and if they attack, it's a weakened attack) if their moral fails unless only 1-2 bases remain and then they all flee.
The game has a lot of abstraction in it, normal for a small scale game but it does play very smooth. We had our own test battle using most of the 2-player box and it was a suprisingly fun experience, even at the smallest game level. The army building has mechanics to make the game scale very well. You typically do not use many more units during bigger battles, the units just increase in size (and thus get more devestating attacks).

One can debate the models, scale and the rules(for any of their games), but if there is one thing that is beyond doubt it is warcradles ability to balance their games. If something is over powered or broken it takes them just a few weeks to correct it. Balance between factions is prolly adressed on a monthly pace. (or faster)
They all fokus on the more fun and casual aspect of gaming, so AC is perfect for those who just want to toss dices around in a casual setting.

Agreed on all of the above so far. We played a 2nd match today, had a good time and it went about twice as fast despite still needing to reference some rules. It is such a good system, I'm fortunate a few friends have jumped in.

I don't know what this "instead" you talk about is. And I'm a bit of a sucker for smallish minis games, so...
...yeah, just ordered two Battle of Singapore starters <_>. It certainly helps that both boxes cost just a bit more than a single Legions Imperialis starters... and the rules being free is also a point in its favor.

In the US at least doubling up on battle for singapore doesnt maje sense unless you want the terrain and dobt plan to buy any of the big battleforce boxes. The price of a crown intro box + an empire intro box is slightly cheaper and gives you all the same contents - terrain and the battle for singapore campaign booklet

Well, I don't really want any of the resin big guys at the moment, so I don't plan on buying the battleforces, so... and the terrain has intrigued me for a while now.
Plus it seems the battleforces are out of stock at the moment too ^^
On the store I bought them, the Singapore Starters costed 90 euros while the Crown and Empire starters costed 120 each, so there's that too

Yes but the intro sets im referring to typically cost less than €45, the crown set + the empire set costs less than €90 but has all the same contents (except for the terrain and the singapore booklet)

If you want the terrain as an extra, that's basically what you get with the BfS set as opposed to buying two seperate introduction sets.
But the pricing structure in general is very favourable towards just getting more introduction sets. Every time I want to expand my Corwn force, I think "might as well just another introduction set" given how insanly good that price is.

Yep. Zero reason to buy anything other than the intro sets if you're not interested in terrain - get the faction battle group set if you want the big tanks, its the equivalent of 2 intros + the resin superheavy + terrain. Otherwise the individual box sets kinda just seem like a ripoff.

Fom the contents it seemed those lacked the cards, I think? That and those not being in stock is what veered me towards the Singapore boxes to start with... but I thought you meant the other, bigger boxes that are double this with the resin big guys ^^

Oh? Must have gotten that wrong then... still I was interested on the scenery, but it's less good
EDIT: Just watched a couple of unboxings and you're right, the cards don't come on any of the introductory sets, only on the big Battlegroups. Well, that's a bit of a shame.

My Singapore boxes arrived? And boy oh boy, do they come packed to the fething brim! Seriously, one of the best starters I've seen in a long, long time. Only shame is that there's no C&C cards :(
I've started assembling everything (it will take a while, good god) and I'm pretty much blown away by the quality and detail of the minis.
Seriously, they're astounding, particularly the infantry
Also, no ugly undercuts or anything, like we've seen somewhere else >_>.
In case anyone's interested on the size of the minis, well, they're 10mm to the eyes, so bigger than LImps, but maybe a tad less than Epic vs LImps. Here's some size comparisons:

Fantastic paint jobs! I love the basing, not a fan of unpainted rims though. The lion automata are extra amazing to me, just exactly how i'd prefer to see them across the table. Well done.

They look excellent! I love the charge of the light mechavalry xD
The only thing I'd say if I'd have to critique, and this is personal liking more than anything else, is that maybe the amount of shrubs on the bases detract a little bit from the minis. Other than that, love the colors and the painting is fabulous.
