The codex cover also shows the new look for the scorpions, a bit on the Banshees as well.  That must be the Autarch standing there in red.

Autarch model looks very nice.  Have to magnetize that guy to have all the options available.

Got a look at the new scorpion models, thankfully no buck-teeth. It looked more like a regular eldar head, with the mandi-blasters on the sides.

The Reaper Exarch has a cool looking gun with two barrels, one underneath the other.

The Fire Dragon Exarch has a gun about twice as tall as he is, not sure if I like it or not.

Looks really good, especially the cover.
Too bad its not a plastic kit.

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time...

He seems a bit static in his pose. Not sure I like him, although I'm sure to buy him when he comes out.

Yeah, I wish it was a plastic kit and not metal.

The cover artwork looks very nice, though.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

I like the Cover, but the Autarch some doesn:t work for me. I hope I can give a Fusion Blaster or something like that.

I have to agree with Jomi. What the @#$? I think the old Phoenix Lords are pretty cool models, but that guy looks like a Space MArine trying to be an Eldar. I do have one question though. Who is the Red figure on the cover? Is that a Farseer? Another Autrarch (since they'll all look different)? Or the Avatar? At first, with the rune sword and looking by perspective the same size as the warwalker behind it, I thought it was the Avatar, but it has a pistol on one arm. So yeah, confused.

Oh, and saw Sarigar's post. Totally agree man. All plastic bits from every exarch set and just go hog wild. At least then any retardness from the model would be the fault of the modeller.

I think both the cover and Autarch is bad sadly :/

As said above, Autarch is just too static, and the codex front picture just looks.... weird... Not exactly there old mysterious and elegant nature showing through on that pic

I don't like the Autarch, doesn't look menacing or like a leader-type figure to me,
but i think the box he comes in will have some nice options so I can just use the stuff I like.
The Dude on the Cover is probably an Autarch, although he looks a bit different.

I demand pics of the new Dark Reaper!!

I think the information means that the paticular autharch we've now seen is the special one in the army box. So the actual one will probably have a more action filled pose... I do like the model though, and the codex cover also looks cool.

Autarch looks like an Ultramarine.

Phoenix Lord designs with the current porportions (head not bigger than body) will look great

I like the idea of an HQ that can't be reamed by the psychic hood every game. I can deal with the model, but I too agree that it looks a little static. I even find Wraithguard less out of character than that. Spirit powered ghost warriors should march in a somewhat static fashion, IMHO. But the Autaruch? I don't know. Whatever. If he's more useful than a Farseer, I'll buy it.

Speaking of new HQ choices, is anyone else excited about the new Avatar rules, the general gist of which say that he'll be quite a badass?

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias

First I'd really like to know what an Autrach is (as you can see I don't know a lot about Eldar). It looks like the Autrach is a knock off of one of those 2nd Ed Space Marine captain models.

I also don't like the new Codex cover. I was expecting something more like the current one.

I'm kinda disappointed. He's not horrible, but I don't like the helmet as well and the pose is kinda boring. He might have potential as conversion material. The cover is really disappointing.

I really like the looks of these models, except the Dark REaper exarch...he's just over the top with his "tempest launcher"...i also dislike the targeting spines on his helmet.
The Autarch is somewhat static...and will definetly cut this marine helmet off.

Too much bling on the Autarch, but there's definite conversion potential, with all the different bits and weapons and such. I'm also not a fan of the Reaper Exarch. I personally like the style of helmet on the current one better. Everything else is very, very nice. I really like the Farseer, and the Dragon Exarch. Kudos to the modellers responsible for these. I wouldn't call any of them bad models, just some of them don't fit my tastes.

well, I hope I can convert the Autarch somehow. maybe a second sword or something like that. he's just too static for those wings, I'll probably won't use them. plus, this guy is too Dire Avanegr for me. I want a firedragon or Banshee Exarch...are there any male banshees anyway?

Meh. Whatever happened to GW being the home of dynamic minatures? The Banshee and the Striking Scorpions are beautifully done and quite dynamic, but the rest? Meh. The Autarch, as already stated, is in what seems to be GW's signature static pose and excessively covered in bling. Dark Reaper exarch, more dynamic, but wields an impossibly huge gun. Ditto for the Fire Dragon (who is also in a static position). To the contrary is the fantastically done Banshee, who looks awesome running ahead. Same can be said of the two Striking Scorpions, who look like they are at least doing something other than the typical "stand and wave your hands in the air like you just don't care!" poses GW seems so plagued with.

I am guessing the Autarch is so statically posed because there are several different options for the model.

Remember the last Tau special character? Don't be surprised when you see the same Autarch model with no helmet on, no wings, and different weapons.

Up your nose with a rubber hose.

Perhaps the only thing I've disagreed with Nyarly about: I like static poses in my army men. Dynamic poses tend to be too situation specific for my taste. (I'm not digging the built-in scenery for the same reason.) A guy just standing there could be about to do anything, but a guy posed mid-run with sword drawn is pretty relegated to charging and chopping. That said, I love the Autarch although I'll be leaving the Hawk wings off mine.

And now for something I'm sure we agree on: "Dirty Boots" + "Mote" + Raymond Pettibone = classic

I cant believe how cool it all looks.. I love the cover very cool and different. I cant believe someone wanted the same cover rehashed, what a waste of time that would of been.

Am I right in assuming the autarch is plastic now or what?

Very very cool I like all of it.

Happy with the scorps too.

Holy cow totally positive.

usually the masters are done in resin, that's why all of these look plastic. They're no doubt all metal.

There are apparently 3 Autarch models that are going to be released. With all the options that the Autarch has in equipment that's not a huge suprise.

This particular model is supposedly the special release in the Battalion Box model. Along with a bonesinger. And perhaps a kneeling ranger (the third special release) though rumours point to that model being only mailorder.

I'm hoping that the other Autarchs are more dynamic, however with the plethora of Phoenix Lord, Aspect Warrior and Guardian bits I have laying around a conversion should not be to difficult.

I have seen as well other weapon options for the exarchs that have been worked on. The Scorp exarch has a huge "bitting blade" option. The DR exarch has different weapons options as well apparently. I wouldn't be suprised to see a different Fire Dragon exarch with his "dragonsbreath" option instead of the firepike as well.
