Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't devs with tank hunter have to be elites?

Your list still is legal, you just deploy in a different order.

Anyway, looks like your typical marine SAFH that's not optimized to shoot and isn't particularly resilient. I'm sure it does fine in games with little terrain and opponents that haven't run the numbers on their own shooty army.

And yes, against just about anything I'd take to a tournament, this list would prevent me from having a good time playing you, since it's so ineffective, so I'd have to mark you lower for sports. [that's in reference to another threat for anyone who didn't read it]

Personally, I would go with Honor Your Wargear as the secondary trait, which lets you do a similar thing with your Devs, but also lets them deploy later.

Your characters are going nowhere fast; I'm assuming they're accompanying a Tac squad each, but at footslogger speeds, you'll only get the units he lets you have. Add to that no hidden powerfists, and I forsee many fruitless dreadnought/wraithlord/nasty-monstrous-creature fights in their future.

The Attack Bikes are better separate, and even better replaced by Land Speeders.

So, to sum up:
-Trade Suffer Not the Work of Heretics for Honor Your Wargear (and lose We Stand Alone, in the process); move the dreads to HS and the Devs to Elites.
-Find 10 points for the upgrade from power weapons to powerfists on the sergeants
-Consider giving one or both HQs a jump pack
- 3 squadrons of 1 > 1 squadron of 3, and make mine Land Speeders.

Once I don't have a headache, I'll post a proposed version.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Attack bikes have more survivability then Land Speeders. They have the same movement, and same weapons, for the same price. So Attack Bikes are better then Land Speeders.

Honor Your Wargear would prevent me from taking the Venerable Dreads. I have the traits optimised, just like I want them.

As for mauleeds post, Honor Your Wargear is the trait that means they must be Elites. Suffer Not the Work of Heretics allows any Tac or Dev squad to be upgraded to Tank Hunters. And like I said, I've had nothing but success with this list, so it being "inneffective" is a bit off mark.

Chances of a lascannon killing a landspeeder:
2/3 hit * 100% glance * 1/3 kill results == 22%

Chances of a lascannon killing an attack bike:
2/3 hit * 5/6 dead * 100% kills == 55%

If you're sure it's great, why did you post it?

You have:
Three vulnerable vehicles
18 heavy/specials, 6 of which are heavy bolters and only 5 of them are AP2 or better
One easy to kill fast squad that has poorly matched weaponry
2 walking bolter squads with powerfists, that will never ever see combat.
2 walking HQs that will never, ever see combat.
Scouts with sniper rifles, yipeee!

Having success doesn't mean it's a good list. It's one step left of atrocious, at best.

If you could beat 1500pts of Godzilla nids, Necrons, real marines, Iron Warriors, or Eldar, I would be shocked.

p.s. Attack bikes don't get assault cannons, and can't drive through terrain safely, or fly over terrain, and can be tied up in assault.

Mech Eldar and any Chaos list with lots of daemons and indirect fire would give this list headaches. Even someone who didn't upgrade their SAFH marines from 3rd Ed would outshoot this list.
