Okay, I've searched and searched but I can't find the info I need. Can anyone give me the exact breakdown of Mauleed's Ultramauleens? And also, the droppod list Mauleed uses so successfully. And, if I'm not mistaken, these armies are devised for 1,850 tournament play. Does anyone know what would change for 1,500 tournament play? Thanks.

I spose someone should point something out...
You can't just take someone else's army list, even if it is a very competative one like Mauleed's, and expect to have the smae success with it. You have to know how to play the army inside out and backwards, in every situation. One person's play stile can be totally different from your own.
Plus, if you tkae it down to 1500, you may cut out a vital, key unit that makes the list work, rendering the list almost useless against many opponents. The reason, IMO, Mauleed did so well, is that not only was it a good list, but he is a good player, and knows his list.
Still, looks like you have a couple of copies now, but remember to at least get as much practice with the army as possible.

Actually I'm wondering what the old 3rd ed lists looked like for Shooty Marines. I never played that edition of the game and I'm just wondering what was considered effective back then.

Can someone PM that list to me also? We are trying to come up with a very competitive 1000pt marine list for testing in local games. Would appreciate it.

From what I recall his list should be at 1850 points. If you're looking for some really hard as nails Marine list at 1500 points I'd suggest the following:
Master, Power Weapon, Combat Shield 5x 5 Man Las/Plas Squads 3x1 Landspeeder Tornado 2x 5 Man 2 Assault Cannon Terminator Squads 1 Venerable Dread in Pod with Heavy Flamer and Extra Armor
That should come out to just under 1500 points.

The one I remember pre-dates the drop pod era:
-termie master, termie command squad 2AC -termie fear/fury librarian, termie command squad 2AC 4X 6-man las plasma squad 8 devs 4HB 6 devs 3 ML ~2 tornados to taste
The power armor squads deploy in a long gunline. The termies go on the wings as countercharge. The speeders lurk.
When Ed plays this army it's fun because it's like "hey, I get to see if I can beat Ed's marines." When somebody else plays it, it's like "Ack! another Mauleed clone."
The rumor I heard of the drop pod army (correct me if I'm wrong) is something like this:
2 termie command squads as above 2 small marine squads with dual meltas in drop pods 2-3 dreads (at least one venerable) with AC and heavy flamer in pods ~2 tornados to taste

If I recall it was something like
Termie Command Squad, Libby with Fear,Fury, in Pod
Termie Squad in pod
2*meltagun squads in pod
3 * ven dreads in pods
3 * Tornados.
+ presumably some other stuff.
For 1500 I'd go for
154 ? Libby 230 ? Termie Command Squad in Pod
270 ? Termie squad in pod
130 ? Melta squad in pod 130 ? Melta squad in pod
165 ? Venerable in Pod 165 ? Venerable in Pod 165 ? Venerable in Pod
then either take a tornado, or dump a heavy flamer and take 2 normal speeders (my preference)
