This is an almost comp friendly list, but how can it be better and still look cuddly?

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time...

Vindicator is absolute garbage, even more so now you gave it all that if it is within range to fire it will probably die. A basilisk with just indirect is golden. If you don't like the double indirect templates I suggest dropping the defiler for 10 furies (counter assailt squad, not sure if you can take them) and champs with pws on your infantry squads. You would also need to drop the useless hull on the preds. GL.

Too many bodies in the CSM squads for shooty purposes. Drop 2 from each and you can afford another 6 man las/plas.

I disagree with the above poster on the Vindicator; virtually unstoppable str 10 ordnance is nothing to sneeze at. I would, however, trade either one or both of the Predators for Defilers. You have plenty of antitank with the squads and Oblits; invest in some anti-personnel (and anyone who's had a squad evaporate under a battlecannon hit will attest that a Defiler is excellent antipersonnel).

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Take the darkblade off your demonprince, give him Strength and all the defensive upgrades. You won't regret it.

If you want to look more cuddly, drop the defiler and add another predator. Defilers, despite not being that great, smell strongly of cheese to most players.

To look more cuddly and be more effective drop down to 3x6 las/plas, then make your last squad 12-14 man with 2 plasmaguns and bolters or meltaguns and bp/ccw and a vet with a powerfist and mutation. You'll be dropping a couple guns, but gaining an anchor unit that will look friendly and draw fire away from your firebase.
