Gorgeous paint job there. I really like the way you detailed all the wiring.

Figures like this make me wonder why someone hasn't found a way to work texture into cloth. There must be something that could be applied to all the cloth on a model like that to make it look like velvet, or linen, and so on.

The white cowl is cool too.  Looks like a sign of rank.

Dakka on World of Warcraft:

MANNAHNIN: I know two guys who have had to quit the game cold turkey because the time investment required by it caused problems with their family life.

JFRAZELL: So in other words, nature is self selecting out those not fit to survive and breed? Hail WOW replacing savannah lions since 1997...

Da Southern New Hampshire!

I like your mechanics, skill of course. You can really paint a stroke, as you nicely demonstrated with the wires from his face.
Whats lacking, if you dont mind some crit., is color. The white is good, but wouldnt you think it would look grander if it was shaded with blue? Or if the red robes were shaded with progressive shades of green? (Green is the complimentary color of red, mixing red and green would create a more realistic shaded effect).

The model seems very "monochromatic" and "bland" in areas that needn't be. Obviously, you wouldn't go into this much detail on a regular model such as an orc (unless youre insane!).

Keep up the good work!

If at first you don't succeed, you fail.

thanks or checkin' out the mini everyone...unfortunately, this is not a good picture...my lighting is too bright to allow any subtlety to come through...it's a bare 100 watt bulb held about 3 inches away from the mini to chase away the shadows...just got a pro light set-up today, so i will repost the few minis i have up here when i redo the fotos...this guys main use of color was in the huge amount of fine details sculpted into the mini(the wires)...that said, i have my own unique style that a lot of people dislike, 'cause it looks so simple...my emphasis is clean lines and undisputable color choices...something that looks like it should be that way even though i paint with a totally unrealistic style...i want my work to look like it just came out of a comicbook, and am influenced by the old traditional tattoos(heavy blacklining, and near solid colors)...it looks simple, but must be executed cleanly, and with the right coor choices...plus i mostly paint for commission and to sell, not display or armies, so i have to reach a medium where everything looks great, but is not overdone for the price i'm gettin'...that said, better lighting will do this guy, and the rest of my minis some justice...

cheers
