Hello all,

We recently added a new player to our Warhammer Warbands group and is going to be playing Tomb Kings.  Now, I own the TK army book but I haven't been able to wrap my head around their spell casting.

He'll be taking a Liche Priest as his hero/commander so I need to explain to him how they work...not an easy thing to do since I don't really glom it myself.  Any chance some of you veteran TK players can give me a good explanation?

The incantations are all bound spells. Priests of both types know all 4 spells. Kings and Princes know the movement and attack spell.

For all characters you roll the dice and thats the casting value of the spell. A hero-level priest gets 1 spell per turn at 2d6. Before he casts the spell he decides what he wants to cast, rolls 2d6, and thats the power level for dispelling attempts. There is NO miscasting, and NO irrestistable force, just the power level. There is a speicific order that casters have to go in, but your friend can read that in the back of the army book.

High Priests get to always cast 2 spells per turn, each at 3d6.
Kings get 2 spells at power level d6 on their own unit or units within 6 inches (I think)
Priests get 1 spell at 2d6
Princes get 1 spell at d6 but only on their own unit

What Steve said.

Remember two key things: the powers are all short ranged and they ALWAYS go off (unless you dispell them-roll as normal).
