Can a Space Marine Chaplain purchase a bolt pistol and close combat weapon while still holding onto his crozius arcanum?

There you go using your ?common sense? again.

Sure, but why?

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias

I have the same issue with one of my chaplains, you also might just want to burn two points. He can carry as much as 100 points of wargear that is allowed to him, without multiples.

legally you are fine to do so.

I thought the maximum number of weapons he could carry was two one-handed weapons, or one one-handed and one two-handed. Or, is that just the number he can use?

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person, who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Well, hmm... I believe you can only use two, and legally you can only have two, but modeling wise, rock and roll. Although changing his crozius with a BP and CCW doesn't seem useful tactically, but its your guy and you are free to do what you want.

Well, actually, I wanted my chaplain to have a thunderhammer and a crozius, but every chaplain model I see has him sporting some kind of pistol in his offhand...so I thought I'd ask first if a chaplain could just buy a thunderhammer (which I'd model slung behind his back) and buy the pistol just because it's already modeled. Except, that I don't want to lose my crozius. So can I do this?

Fluffwise, I'm envisioning him to be sorta my version of an emperor's champion, going around and taking out IC characters and stuff.
