wraithlord $40. Nice and not a huge increase. Comparable to the SM dreadnought.
warwalker price actually went down, from $35 (not that it was a good price to begin with)
I wonder why Yriel is more expensive? Because he is a Special character?

Yeah, I think all of the special characters are around $17 now. The only price that's surprising is the viper. That seems expensive even for GW.

Argh.
Doesn't bode well for those of us in Canada... Not surprisingly, the aspect warrior squads look like they are taking after the current pricing trend of 6 models for $45. As well, the US pricing implies that the Falcon gets a kick in the pants up to $55 along with the Wraithlord. And oh happy day! $130 for the new battlefarce.
Yessire... GW Canada's pricing make me want to retch. I like to support my FLGS, but when the exchange is around 1.13 CAD / USD, and GW Canada's "exchange" is 1.5 CAD / USD... it makes it very hard... Its a telling sign when GW Canada's retailer discount for local RT stores is comparable to the US MSRP.
But then again, CANADIANS are stupid poo-poo heads who can't do that horrible tricksy MATHS. Besides, the USD will rebound and the CAD dollar will once again be at 1.5/1 soon enough...M-I-RITE????

Hellfury: Some stuff -is- competitively priced by GW Canada vs GWUK, like Shining Spears and Terminators. However, most stuff is not - the most glaring differences are in the core units: McCragge / Skull Pass - US MSRP $45 ($51.08) - CAD MSRP - $75 - 32% difference Squad box / Regiment box - US MSRP $30 ($34.05) - CAD MSRP - $45 - 24% difference Battleforce / Battalion - US MSRP $90 ($102.16) - CAD MSRP - $130 - 32% difference Monster Blisters / Small Boxed Items (i.e. Eldar Heavy Weapon Platform etc.) - US MSRP $15 ($17.02) - CAD MSRP - $25 - 32% difference I think most Canadian consumers would look the other way if the difference was say... 5-10%. A difference of 25%+ is kind of hard to swallow. GW Canada is oh-so-helpful when they respond to inquiries on the matter with: 1. We set our prices against the British Pound (GWUK)... (which is strange, since it is cheaper to mail order from the UK, -and- pay shipping from GWUK than to mail order from GW Canada - I guess they must convert Canadian prices from GWUK MSRP+VAT+Shipping+Exchange! - which would make mathematical sense!) 2. It is added cost for doing business in Canada, GW Canada and GW US are seperate entities, and pricing is set seperately... I wish regional management here was a little less slowed. I truly feel bad for the independent retailers and the redshirts/blackshirts at the GW outlets, since they are really doing their best to promote the hobby despite the ridiculous ease at which you can get discounted merchandise from over the border. - I mean, if I got battleforces from Neil, I'd save near 40% off CAD MSRP! There's no way you can argue with that!

At the risk of sounding like I am trying to rub the price differences in the collective face of my 40k brothers to the north, I think it is worth discussing that at least in the US, with the new Eldar releases, GW is in many cases giving a bit of a price break for a change.
Yes, the Wraithlord and a few other models seem to be going up in price unnecessarily.
But the new boxes of aspect warriors are good deals. I can?t check my math for sure (as the US GW site has taken down most of the older figures in preparation for the new rollout), but I believe most metal aspect warriors were $10 (maybe even more?) for a blister of 2, and $10 for the exarch. The 6-man boxes, even the ones of brand new figures, sell for $30, and contain $35 worth of figures based on the old pricing.
Also, the new Farseer & Warlock box set looks to be particularly good deal compared to the current prices of $12 for Farseers and $10 for Warlocks (IIRC) = $42 worth of models for $30.
Granted, an important issue is raised, though? whether or not GW plans to release blisters of the new metal aspect warriors ? so that your squads of Scorpions and such can be larger than 6 ? and what will those blisters cost. Anything more than $10 for 2 models, and you start to lose the price break when putting together a squad of 8 or 10.
Even so, my numbers may not be perfect, but with all the complaining about GW prices (which I have admittedly done plenty of myself), I have been surprised to find very little discussion of NEW models at LOWER prices.

This is barely on-topic, but I'm going to complain anyway: old Wraithguard are still $15 each. I don't get it. They made them better than they were, but they're still terrible. I just... don't understand. No one (except Iyanden players) bought them last edition. No one is going to buy them this edition, as any semblance of playability Iyanden used to possess is lost. I mean, at least in the old rules I could field 3 Falcons and 2 Wraithlords to complement my less-than-average (read: medicore at best) troops.
But who is going to buy them?
Collectors, maybe. Perhaps modellers who want to do some more Eldar because they've done everything else. But at $15 each, I can't imagine almost anyone buying them. Can you imagine being an Eldar collector who wants to do even a small squad and finding that the Eldar's equivalent to Termies are going to cost $15 each? I mean, these guys just have no selling point.
I like the stoic look of Wraithguard. But I find that a more vocal majority is sick and tired of GW's stoic models and want dynamic poses. These guys aren't going to win any modelling awards. And they just have unworkable rules. And they cost $15 a pop.
I just don't understand who would buy them.

not many people I would imagine. There are great standins that would work better for writhgaurd than wrathgaurd do themselves. Now here is the kicker, they cost almost 2/3 less than a wraithgaurd.
But you gotta look in the UK GW eldar classics section.

If your referring to Ghost Warriors then you must not have seen them alongside Wraithguard; they may cost 2/3 less, but they are only a 1/3 as tall; there is no way that they can come across as S5 T5, let alone T6 Although if you werent referring to Ghost Warriors could you post a link as I dont particulary want to spend 40 pounds on 5 more models to have a legal Iyanden Army...

Yes, I was referring to the ghost warriors. The size of the models doesnt matter as its size class is 2.
As far as it representing str and toughness, so what? Show me a model that adequately reps what the stats are in the first place, and Ill show you a model that isnt made by GW.
Besides, you can have a full squad of 10 models for the price of 4 wraithgaurd. Besides being a bit more original than most eldar armies, its far cheaper. Win win.

I called alliance and they said that they can get them.
But keep in mind the fiasco that distributors have when these splash releases come out. (tau pirahnas, city of death, etc.)
I was told when I ordered the city of death box from alliance, that they were allocated 11 from GW, for their western dist. Lisa said they got 170+ requests for them. Definatly short there.
So you might get one from a local store, but I would not count on it unless you got good friend who ordered these VERY early.

Ah, yes, the old GW "If you don't have a sales account with us, then good luck buddy! Oh, you do? We're sorry, those are direct sales only." Alas, I have nothing to worry about here, as I'll not be buying any of these thanks to GW's fab pricing structure, their awsesome customer support and easy to play rules.
