Here is a 400pt Combat Patrol list I put together for first part of a campaign i'm playing against my friend, who is an ork. My thought is the Chimeras will mainly be used as mobile firebases with the IG deployed first or second turn to make a fire base. Since I can put out an awful lot of shots per turn I think I can mop up a good sized force. I took an autogun to help out taking out enemy transporst because I'm most worried that he'll dump a bunch of trukk boyz into my lines and destory my firing lanes.

If you want, take an Autocannon turret mount for your Chimera (+15pts instead of +10). That way, you'll have two medium antitank weapons in your Fist Squad (you can do the same for both, come to think of it), and Chimeras are monsters at 400pts. ACs are a Forge World upgrade, in case you were wondering.

You're Veteran Squad is illegal. Veteran Sergeants may not take Power Fists. If you'll look at your wargear section more closely, PFs are only allowed for Officers. In fact, rather than write out my explanation for two pages, here's your list reworked.

The Storm Bolter is from the leftover points. This list looks nasty, since it has 4 Autocannons capable of laying out 8 Str.7 AP4 shots per turn, as well as 4 Plasma Guns, backed up by 11 Lasguns of either BS 3 or 4. You'll never face >AV12, so anything your opponent chucks at you is Autocannon bait.

Vet Sergants can 100% take officer only weapons according to the codex.

Which Imperial Armour volume is that autocannon upgrade in? The only concern I have takign that is my opponent would have to see the rule, and be cool with playing it. other wise packing 4 autocannons with 20 models in a 400 point game is a pretty scary opposition.

Imperial Armor 1 is the one, I believe.

As for the PF: oops. I should have checked the Vet. Sarge entry. But then again, why would you want to put a 20-point upgrade on a 13 point, T3 5+ save model? You now have a 33 point model that strikes last, and will die in close combat very, VERY quickly. Yes, it's the IG's only hidden-fist option, but still, the squad is much more effective using the 3 Plasmas and the Autocannon that it's packing.

Anyway, good luck. I'd like to hear how it goes - I'm thinking about getting a couple Chimeras myself, in an effort to make my army more mechanized.
