Mt good friend Master Exploder pointed this out to me and I thought that some folksthat play Eldar would be interested.  This was news to me, may not be to some of you.

The new Dire Avengers squad box comes with enough parts to make 2 Exarchs, with all the trimmings.  The Eldar Autarch, especially the one that comes in the Army box, looks very much like a Dire Avenger Autarch.

If you were so inclined to have an Autarch in your force, use the extra Dire Avenger Exarch parts.  The Shimmershield works greats as the Autarchs Forceshield, and you can arm him with a power weapon and a shuriken pistol very easily. A little putty work can make you an Autarch-y cloak and sash around the waist, and you can use both the Exarch banners to make the double Autarch war banners if you wish.

A little cutting and sanding would remove the Exarch's trademark hair crest, and  then a little sculpting would get you the hair plume that the Autarch has, if you desire it.  Or, just sculpt on some Mandiblasters or Banshee sonic amplifiers.

This is also a great way to get an easy Jetbike Autarch instead of hacking up a metal Autarch. You could even rep the Jetbike Autarchs laser lance (what other weapon would you give him, honestly?) with the Exarch power weapon-glaive-spear thing, with a little converting.

Just thought I would drop that into the pool for you Eldar  commanders.

the dire avenger sprue is probably the nicest plastic troop sprue out there.
the Exarch model is on par with almost any metal character GW makes.
I used the arms on the Autarch from the box set, and it looks sweet (shimmershield, shuricat and power weapon dealy)
I liked the avenger bitz better than the actual autarch pieces.

Thanks for the Info... Will probably pick one box up because of that even though I plan to use my Guardians as Avengers.

Mhhh...converting goodness...

Yeah, you could even use alot of those bits if youre like me and make plastic warlocks out of gaurdians. Lots of bit goodness right there.

I made an autarch with mandiblasters form the weird little nipple looking bit from the gaurdian sprue. I dont know what to call it, as it has no use outside of aesthetic purposes and even then its a mystery.

Anyways, fiting them on the sides of the head worked well with only slight alteration to the nipple bit.

Hey, I hadn't thought of using that part for the Mandiblasters! Good call, Hellfury! Perfect solution and a lot easier than sculpting the darned things. I have a metric ton of those bitz around, finally a use for them.

Beware of the Nippleblaster!
Not exactly sure what you mean, but thanks for the info anyway.

Does anyone have an overview on the parts for the autarch and farseer boxes? Maybe you could use spare bits of them to further convert your plastic minions...?
