Probably not. Every time I go to block up the holes I get killed by Mobs.

I could just seal up the hole forever. It has no use other than for a tinsy bit of Mining.

This times a thousand. I mine under my plot to check out whats there, and next thing I know, I'm dead, fallen into a hole from which there is no escape.

Hence mining under a community project is usually a waste of time...

Just make a random portal in the nether, somewhere quite far out. Then make that your mine.

Doesn't need to be too far out, just that most of the time if there's a lot of people in the same place the ground below will be mostly hollow cause of everyone mining it.

Just got my mods going lawl. Realised that it was because I don't need Modloadersmp now.

No point really, I just wish they had even more of a use. Like a block that lights when you step on it like the ore does.

I'd take it, but I keep on dying horribly, losing everything that matters and then ragequitting, forgetting and logging back on and blaming the server reload.

I tried, but when you're mining, you can't really stop at a chest every time you mine an ore or something, so along comes a Creeper, or a hidden Lava pit, or a massive hole...

Interesting, by the looks of it they're a sort of currency for trading with villagers. I think they mentioned wanting to add trading with them a while back, but it'd be nice to sort of have a currency.

As for the ore, it could be redstone; but they have sort of snuck things in like that before.

Please say that they'll make an actual Shop system for players, so they can set tokens for a specific item and then rely on people not to loot it.

I suppose then we could come up with a price for all the main things we trade to make use of the currency outside of villages. Of course only to add to the barter system we have that works.

Well, that could work, but we'd need a way to stop thieves. And a conversion chart.

But first we'd need to find out how easy it is to get these coins.

Well, you have to actually interact with the player. Not ideal for shops.

Someone suggested using MCEdit to run a filter that adds a scattering of the (potential) new ore at a rate of 3-5% in existing chunks.

So that's one possibility, but would have to be careful that the ore doesn't end up breaking portals/redstone circuits/just generally making a mess etc.

Would it be possible to back up the world and test it using SP first?

EDIT: Assuming the compatability of an MP world with SP.
