Subject: Hit and Run style 1700pts Eldar

Hello all! After examining the new Eldar codex, here's the "take all comers" tournament list that I've devised: HQ Autarch w/ Eldar Jetbike, Reaper Launcher or Farseer w/ Eldar Jetbike, Singing Spear, Guide, Runes of Warding Elites 6 Fire Dragons w/ Exarch w/ Dragon's Breath Flamer (go in Falcon) 6 Fire Dragons w/ Exarch w/ Dragon's Breath Flamer (go in Falcon) Troops 3 Guardian Jetbikes w/ Shuriken Cannon 3 Guardian Jetbikes w/ Shuriken Cannon Fast Attack 10 Warp Spiders w/ Exarch w/ Spinneret Rifle, Power Blades, Withdraw 10 Warp Spiders w/ Exarch w/ Spinneret Rifle, Power Blades, Withdraw 10 Warp Spiders w/ Exarch w/ Spinneret Rifle, Power Blades, Withdraw Heavy Support Falcon w/ Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon, Vectored Engines, Holofields, Spirit Stones Falcon w/ Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon, Vectored Engines, Holofields, Spirit Stones Points: a little shy of 1700 Obviously, the basic premise is that most of my units can move-shoot-move, or have enough durability to not easily get killed. I'm torn between the Autarch (to help in Escalation) or the Farseer (to buff the Falcons and provide anti-psyker support.) I'm aware that the army's success is very terrain dependant, as to provide enough barriers for my Warp Spiders to survive. Nevertheless, I believe I have a solid amount of Horde busting, MEQ/tank busting, and manouverability. Comments welcome!

Looks like a cool list
I doubt the need of the Exarch in those units. If you kill the fire dragons' exarchs you can save some serious points and not suffer from a loss of firepower. Really, they should only be hitting hard units, not hordes.
I can understand that with a shooty list you want to be able to duck out of combat with the spiders. Withdraw sounds great for a unit of that size, but do you feel you will get the use out of the powerblades?
Should be able to use these points to snag a Spearlok for the Jetbike units, bumping them to an even number and providing some more antitank.
I can see how you are torn between the Autarch and the Guideseer. Guide on a unit of Spiders or dragons is very nice, and you get a spear out of it. The Autarch seems to be an attempt to round out the list somewhat, and I didnt realize his Master Strategist rule worked when he was off the table (as he will be in escalation). No comment on which would be best, try both perhaps?

Thanks for the comments. If I get rid of the Fire Dragon Exarch's and the Power blades, I'll have about 54 extra points to spend, which can net me one Jetbike Warlock w/ Embolden, and a Singing Spear. If I cut a Warp Spider from each squad, I can sneak another one in...

Am I correct in noticing that the only anti-tank/terminator busting units that you have are snakes on planes? I realize that falcons are rediculously hard, but you might have a problem if you run into monoliths, armored companies (sort of) or assault cannon armies of doom.
Also, you have 9 scoring units, 2 of which are vehicles, 2 of which are T3 3+ save at 3 men strong and 2 are 6 men strong with storm trooper stats. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me that high rate of fire/ordnance weapons (heavy bolters, assault cannons, inferno cannons and pie plates) would ruin your day. How do you propose to deal with the ubiquitous indirrect fire bassalisk/defiler?
In short: good concept, but the list is going to get hurt against any kind of mobile fire power/podding/deepstriking nonsense and indirrect fire.
cheers

To the Ether Dude:
Thanks for the comments! I'm going to drop the Fire Dragon Exarchs, Power Blades, and 3 Warp Spiders to get 2 Warlock Jetbikers w/ Embolden and Singing Spears. The Jetbikes can now turbo-boost and try to hunt Indirect Fire vehicles.
About Scoring units - hopefully my soft Eldar will be able to avoid getting killed via move-shoot-move or hiding in durable Falcons. While Land Speeder type units can be trouble, the Warp Spider's 3+ armour should absorb most of the firepower, then the rest of my army shoots down the exposed Land Speeders, returning the manouverability advantage to me.
The Monolith doesn't really scare me as I can stay away from it's guns while picking off Warriors, then swooping in and blasting it with 12 Melta Guns when the time is right (bottom of the last turn, deep scatter into my side of the table...)
Anyway, thanks for the ideas!

12 Meltas might have a hard time killing a monolith as you don't get the 2D6 for penatration. You mght want to consider arming your falcons with bright lances to give your army a way to hit big vehicles. You will need to deal with monoliths and heavy tanks before the last turn.

To Samwise:
Thanks for the comments! Bright Lances on the Falcons is a bad idea since I can't move more than 6" and still fire it and the Pulse Laser (not to mention the fact that the Bright Lance is quite a bit more pts than the Scatter Lasers.) Since I have 2 Falcons, hopefully one of them will be able to find the side armour of any "tough" vehicles (Predators, Hammerheads) or I can send the Jetbikes and Spearlock in for a suicide run. Of course, slow tanks don't really scare me anyway, since most of my army will be hiding via the move-shoot-move (terrain permitting.) Good gaming!

I say, leave the powerblades on the exarchs. They're fine. Being able to beat guard/non-sargented marines in combat is great.
I would say drop one squad of warp spiders and the wasted FD exarchs to get some tank busting in the form of another falcon full of fire dragons.
