hi everyone...i just finished this guy yesterday...had to take some quick pics before he went out in the mail this mornin'...the customer had commissioned some minis from dan smith(one of the brushthralls), and wanted me to match the scheme...these pics have not been edited yet, so the colors are a lot lighter in the pics than on the real mini...the purple is much deeper, the metal more purple in the shadows, and the bronze much greener on the real deal...dude will be happy, even though i would have liked to keep him a little longer and add a highlight to the runes, and a few more to the purple edges...oh well...next project will be the harbinger of menoth in an alternate color scheme...should be fun...

Nice! How would you go about a simmaler scheme in a deep red?

@zubbiefish...the forgeworld tech-priest i put up here is a good example of my reds...also the warband in escalation-feora's alternate color scheme is a good example...
color-wise, i start over black, lay down some scorched brown, then redgore w/ a bit of scorched...straight red gore, and then mix in blood red for the highlights...for a bit of purple in the tone(like feora's warband) mix a little dark angel's green w/ the red gore...
