Yes... ? Sorry, I'm a bit thrown seeing an honest to god, straight forward, no 'logic maze of twisting nightmare that would make old Tool videos look like candyland'... I haven't actually seen the new 'dex yet, but if the wargear does indeed give you a 12" move in place of shooting then yeah, it's a 36" moving transport. Kev

I know it sounds totally slowed to be asking the question but it just seems so wrong that it can happen.

Yes, Eldar have the ultimate last-turn, "f--k you" move upgrade. Falcons/Fire Prisms are even more mandatory now, as they can play VP denial AND claim objectives from across the table in the last turn.
|
As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Yeah, Mech Eldar make my Tau look like a crippled old man now. 36" is just awesome, it makes Eldar to the absolute king in taking objectives.

You barely have to play a game with them really, just hide and take objectives at the end. 5 wraithguard + warlock = lots o' points for scoring at the end. Add to that some falcons and fire prisms and they are nearly unbeatable.... hmm, I think I gotta challenge a couple of Eldar players to see if I can crush them.

Does that mean I could tank shock in the movement phase and then again in the shooting phase?

I was wondering about that too. It says that 'in lieu of shooting it can move an additional 12" (paraphrase, I don't have my book handy) now does that mean that it can only move 12" to be able to use star engines because you would have to have the opportunity to shoot to be able to give it up? In which case I would say that yes you can tank shock twice...
Fun fun GW rules...

Nope, you cannot tank shock in the shooting phase. On page 70 under "tank shock" it says:

Hellfury, did you recently invest in a scanner or do you have the rulebook in PDF form?
I dig those straight pastes from the rulebook.

PDF, baby! All day long.
Oddly enough, its easier for me to print screen the pdf and host the image (in its expurgated form, of course) than it is for me to sit here with a book and try typing it word for word.

Posted By happypants on 11/19/2006 7:24 PM I know it sounds totally slowed to be asking the question but it just seems so wrong that it can happen. Don't be too up set by it, lets consider this - a unit can move 6" fire off a few rounds, charge another 6" engage in HtH and still keep up with a speeding vehicle. And why is it that the mere presence of enemy troops enables other squads to double the distance with which they can move? Wierd really.
