Wow...fascinating thread, truly impressive from both a creative and technical standpoint! Your work with plasticard is awe inspiring, and any tutorials on the general techniques you use would be most welcome.
Can I make one suggestion though? Get yourself an airbrush! Check out lbursley or eggroll's blogs, I think you will find them very helpful. Brush painting those monsters can't be fun!

I think he means the main cannons. I don't know if the can handle drilling or become too structurally compromised if you do that, but you can give them a darker colour inside.

I'm pretty sure, or atleast it looks like it from the pictures, that the main cannons aren't drilled out.
