So being single player and all that, how 'put-downable' is this game? As in I have two children and one of them is at that age where we have to use the term 'floor treats' and scramble over to disarm her of her latest treasures.

Not too familiar with the 4X type of game, are the space battles done in rounds or are they more RTS style?

Just reading the comments has me somewhat interested but I have to work within my limitations

The whole game is RTS. The battles play out right in the system maps. It is pausable, though.

You can pause at any moment. It's very put-downable.

Thanks folks . Watching a let's play. I may be low on specs but steam has a return policy doesn't it? Looks like the top game of its class in terms of things I like.

Yeah, can return it before two hours of gameplay or a certain number of days, whichever comes first.
