Start small and work your way up to bigger and at your won pace instead of Bang huge games in WFB or smaller games with AoS. We could have had both. This way, when you want a big game you play WFB when you want a small game you play AoS. It can be done, it was done.

I don't get this recurrent argument. I play huge games in AoS, with easily 100+ minis on each side.

I mean for people like me, or hell just me. Haven't started WFB because it's so big. This way have AoS as the "starter" or "get into" game, so I can start small and not worry about I have to start big in order to play. I know you can play 100+ minis with AoS, thing is from what I gather, not many people played small games of WFB or even 40K games. Everything was in the 1500+ point games in order to get a game. At least with AoS, we can right now have the mentality that we can play small games as well as big games. The mentality to my knowledge fore WFB was big games or non since WFB from what I was told doesn't play good small. (From when I did my research when I was going to try WFB. I was told on the internet people don't play small games and in my area, if I was going to get a game, it was either go big or go bust. So I choose bust. Again in my area not sure what it was like for others)

So for me, if WFB didn't play well small, then why bother starting?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

It's a shame. I really enjoyed small games of WHFB. I'd frequently play 500-1000pt games, I have several armies around the 750pt mark for that reason, I found it fun and fast to play multiple games like that rather than spending a long time playing a big game.

This was a contributing factor for me. The other part was just picking an army.

40K was already an investment waiting to happen, so I couldn't go in whole hog in a Fantasy army unless I got really lucky in a Mercenary Market (local game store event to sell of your old models to other players).

WHFB could be played in a small setting, but many armies really did not belong there, such as the Tomb Kings (especially with their 6th Edition book). And that would be assuming a small game was even considered by other players. When all you see is people trotting out 2250+ for a pick up game, it is intimidating to ask for the equivalent of a demo game.

And what if you didn't like the army for the demo game, but would still have enjoyed it at the 2250 mark? No way to know unless you coughed it up.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?
