I went from 2nd edition metal hive tyrants to the modern flyrant. The difference in the visual appeal between the two made me completely retire my two metals to replace them with the new ones. Although I like the new zoanthropes I still also really like the old metal ones. The modern plastic tyranid warriors are leaps and bounds better looking then the metal ones, and are a big improvement on the ones from Tyranid Attack. Newer biovores are also much nicer then the old ones. Really, from the old 2nd edition lines, I find the only good models were termigants, genestealers, zoantropes, and carnifex.

Eldar falcon.

From the flying door wedge to the shmexy beast we got back in 2nd ed.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

The base Falcon variant hull looks so good, it's no wonder that they haven't bothered updating it for the past few decades. I'm still frequently amazed at how incredibly modern it feels when I look it. It's one of those timeless designs for sure.

Same can be said for many a Jes Goodwin mini. Guy has a knack for this stuff it seems.

Whilst I agree that the basic Falcon chassis looks great, we all know the real reason GW hasn't updated it is the same as everything else in the Eldar range, they can't be bothered as there's too many space marines to get through.

The zoanthrope has been on quite the journey since 2nd edition. But I really like where it has ended up.

That said, I wish they would do something with the 2nd edition design. I think a really cool new tyranid "monster" could come out of it.

I take no shame in saying that THAT artwork is atrocious, and thank the Chaos Gods every second for the current Zoanthrope.

What, the dripping penis and 'come hither' grasping hands and face don't do it for you?

I like artwork to conform to perspective, proportions, and for the lifeforms in the artwork to have at least a semblance of anatomy and structure. This artwork fails on those levels and SO much more...

The truth of that is painful...
