The blue on that blade is gorgeous, do you mind me asking which colours you used for it?

Thanks everyone for those last comments, really appreciate them!

Adamski Alders: The blade was an experiment that I had to redo a few times until I found something I liked. In the end the actual cutting part of the blade is based in Turquoise, then a tiny amount of Dark Sea Blue was mixed in and added in the darkest areas. When building up the lighter areas I tried to make sure the parts closest to the edge of the darker non-cutting part of the blade always was a bit lighter than the area immediately below it in direction of the sharp edge to give a good contrast without having to resort to an actual light line drawn afterwards (because I always mess up at that stage and have to redo...). The lighter parts was slowly built up towards pure Light Blue Green (not sure I I had an intermediate step of Light Turquoise in between) and then the exreme light bit close to the tip was taken further by adding in a bit of White. Once I was happy with the light bits, I coated the complete non-cutting bits in Dark Sea Blue and very gradually lightened this with Turquoise, never going to full Turquoise apart from the very final edge highlights. All colour names are Vallejo MC colours.

Now finalised the base, so time to go back and finish the two characters. The base was a fun but slow experiment.

Cheers,
Oskar
