Watched the Getter Robo Armageddon OVA from '99 and enjoyed it. Moving on into Shin Mazinger Z Hen and digging it so far.

Side Note: Last week's episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure got me right in the weak spot.

Do you mean not tv mature? I would strongly suggest 08th MS team, it's my favorite by far. 083 Star Dust Memories is also pretty good. If you want better artwork Gundam Unicorn has sick animation, but the story isn't as good if you have not seen the main story line.

Gundam Seed has always been made favourite but not everyone would agree with me on that. (destiny was nowhere near as good though)

Turn A gundam has a very good story IMO. After War Gundam X is also good. That all said, if you want the real experience you start with the first and watch everything in chronological order. The Universal Century story line is just straight up the best thing.

Actual Gundam series or just mechs?

The Gundam property is notorious for it's overarching theme of the horrors of war. Most of the sub-M series, especially dubbed, are considered not good. One of your best bets may be checking out the original series, Mobile Suit Gundam, considering it's target demographic and the era of its release. If you enjoy it, many of the other series take place in the same universe. The previously mentioned Gundam Unicorn takes place in this timeline and so do many of the short series and movies (<3 Char's Counterattack). Gundam SEED is not one of my favorites, but has some interesting mech design but I agree with the above sentiment that SEED Destiny was g'awful. I really enjoy Gundam 00 all around, as well, which is in another timeline. If you're like me and you dig super robots, G Gundam is ridiculous, tongue-in-cheek fun and fits in the sub-M range. I would recommend Gundam Build FIghters based on the target rating, but would expect someone to be lost starting with this. Get back to this one after watching a number of the other series.

Roger. I'll check out Mobile Suit Gundam and go from there. I ask for dubbed mainly cause I can't stand Subbed anime. Typically I'd rather watch poorly dubbed over expertly subbed.

Honestly, subbed shows have ruined dubbed shows for me with a few small exceptions (like shows I used to watch in English).

Not a fan. Just doesn't appeal to me :/

Depends on the anime. I love Hajime no Ippo, Kuroko no Basket and Diamond no ace.

Triage X is getting really good, but is a show I can't publically recommend thanks to the fan service and gag boobs.

I'd probably enjoy fighting sports. Likely because I'll be able to focus past the elements that might otherwise hold little appeal to me. I might have read two or three manga on this theme, I really enjoy, if the artist does his homework and draws more realistic matches with strokes and counters. When movements are only a blur I quickly lose interest. Generally speaking, I haven't watched neither has the synopsis attracted me to any series I might randomly stumble on.

I have greatly enjoyed 2 of the 3 sports anime I've seen atm, which is Yowamushi Pedal (which almost seems like it should just be "yaoi pedo"... but it's a good story at the moment. Though I'm not sure I'm going to be okay with the "1 day of a race is an entire 24 episode season"... Otherwise, I'm finding Kuroko no Basket to be fantastic.

I've currently got Diamond no Ace (Baseball), Hajime no Ippo (Boxing), and Haikyu (Men's Volleyball) in my queue. I don't think I'm going to check out Prince of Tennis, Baby Steps (also tennis), or Free! (swimming), because the sports just don't interest me at all.

I didn't drop Triage X, and honestly the fan service and gag boobs are what are keeping me from really enjoying the show. The MC is far less of a feth than he was in the first three episodes, and we're finally getting big baddies!

I like Ippo but beyond that haven't found a sports anime or manga that's held my interest.
