Below is a list I've been tempted to build start, with a stealth feild theme.  However I'm not sure exactly what to take for non-stealth choices.  What changes (if any) would you make, assuming none of the units with stealth fields could be dropped.

HQ
Shadowsun 175

Elite
6 Stealth 180

Iorek: "Snoogums, you're right. Your arguments are irrelevant, and they sure as heck aren't going away."

Certainly an interesting theme... I would tell you to drop Shadowsun being that she's so expensive, but I'll honor your request. Heck, her leadership bubble might actually come in handy with all the static stuff you're fielding.

The Heavy section looks good. It's unorthodox, but it could be made to work. Sniper Drones aren't a bad unit; their only crime, aside from the fact that they're non-scoring (which you can afford, since everything else in your army does), is that they have to compete with the two Railgun-toting choices. That configuration of Broadside units is pretty much exactly how I load them up when I take them, although I'd recommend bonding them if you can squeeze it in. Elites look good as well, but again, a team leader with a bonding knife would be a good buy; in fact, if I had to choose, I'd say bond the Stealths before the Broadsides if you're strapped for points.

The markerlights should help boost the effectiveness of the Stealths and the Sniper Drones, but I'm not so sure that you need that many of them. I'd keep the 'lights on the Fire Warrior team leaders, but drop the Marker Drones and the Seekers on the Piranhas. With those points, you could buy yourself more Kroot or another Piranha to help keep things away from your firebase, or perhaps do some more rejiggering to buy yourself another Commander (Helios Ninja'O, maybe?). Three BS4 markers and two BS3 markers should be enough.

Like I said, it looks pretty cool: a firebase, protected by a significant infiltrating presence and a few fast tank hunters/objective capturers. Let us know how it does.

Only comment I have is that the stealths are very vulnerable. I'd say you should cut back points where you need to to get them tons of drones

Have a look at this:

Rationale:

HQ: Shadowsun is expensive short ranged an can be targetted while her drones are alive. I like the fluff too but she is difficult to use. Would rather have a tooled up Shas'o here but fluff is nice too.

Elite: I tend to run only one squad of Stealth, and even then with trepidation. There is a reason winning Tau players run fire knife crisis suits...they work ell consisitently.
If your are going to take Stealth in squads of six, bond them. Relying on Stealth as your army center will cause some very difficult matchups for you.

Troops:  I have won best overall with Tau at two GT's and also have won several RTT's. OPINION ALERT: Never field Kroot for any other than fluff reasons or you happen to be in love with the models. Compared with the other places you can put your points Kroot are a bad joke. END OPINION ALERT. Also, sread you markerlights out into cheaper, more expendable units. Everyone knows what markerlights can do. The turn a marker unit moves to set up a (or multiple) marks, it will draw fire. Since a successful mark(s) makes your other good units even better and since your good units are harder to acquire, marker units are the first to go if your opponent knows what they are doing. At least make them use up shooting on multiple cheap units and you might even get to fire those seeker missiles.

Fast Attack: I love Piranhas. Hot and cold on the seeker/marker thing. Gun Drone squads can be useful as well.

Heavy Support: Early on your opponent will have two targeting choices Broadsides and Fire warriors. Even with drones the Broadsides go down pretty easy. For your army I think Hammerheads are a better choice. Mobile, survivable, versatile. I personally don't care for the Sniper drones but I believe a skilled player can use them to advantage.
