The hawks re-deepstrike. The falcons and cargo wait for a good target. The pathfinders and farseer sits in cover to get 2+ re-rolled cover saves, and the autarch is counter-charge. Please comment on my theory-hammering.

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time... |

I like the concept.
Especially if you can deepstrike in the SH every turn and grenade someone then jump back out the same turn.
I like it.

He means the large blast that you can place when Deep Striking.

To make possibly the best Eldar list in 4th edition:
1) Drop all the hawks. (-396 pts) 2) Drop farseer, add reaper launcher bike/lance/mandiblaster autarch (+52 pts), add fusion gun to the autarch (+62 pts) tot: 334 pts 3) Put scatterlasers on all your falcons. 4) Do whatever with the rest of your points.
Farseer is hit or miss, but I just don't like them as much as the jetbike autarchs. They're so flexible and excellent all-around. IC-protected move and fire heavy weapons, 6 S6 choppy power weapon attacks, etc.

I'll have to doublecheck the rules when I get home but I am fairly sure the hawks are stuck on the table a turn after skyleaping, or similar. If this is the case they are utterly worthless. If they can dive, grenade, re-dive, they're still only of questionable utility since the grenade pack sucks

There is nothing to prevent a unit of Hawks from skyleaping as per the skyleap rule in the codex.

Another try:
Farseer 98pts singing spear, doom, runes of warding
Autarch 155pts jetbike,laserlance,mandiblasters,reaper launcher
6 Fire Dragons 96pts 6 Fire Dragons 96pts
6 Harlequins 132pts 6 kisses
5 Pathfinders 120pts 5 Pathfinders 120pts 5 Pathfinders 120pts 5 Pathfinders 120pts 3 Jetbikes shuriken cannon 76pts
Falcon 205pts scatter lasershuriken cannon,holo-fields,spirit stones,vectored engines Falcon 205pts scatter laser,shuriken cannon,holo-fields,spirit stones,vectored engines Falcon 205pts scatter laser,shuriken cannon,holo-fields,spirit stones,vectored engines
question: is 20 pathfinders with an occasional doom enough to kill anything, and how useful is having runes of warding.

@ Longshot: Why Scatter Lasers? Double Shuricannon seems to be better since you save 10 points by losing only one S6 AP6 shot.

I'd guess Longer Range and one more shot per turn.

Yeah, the extra 12" can make a real difference when you're hunting light vehicles.

The hawk thing looks like a gimmick. I doubt the templates would do any significant damage over the course of the game, and won't make you any friends in a tournament.
I hear that pathfinders still aren't all that effective at producing reliable kills over the course of a game. There's so much variance in the numbers that it's hard to guess without actually trying it out.
