I wanted to pick the collective Dakkadakka brain about the concept of "count as?"

I am thinking about doing a Tau Farsight list, which will be suit heavy.  What can I say, I love my XV8's, so my question is this:

Is it legal, ok, morally fine by all of you, if I were to make a Farsight list, use Farsight they way he is, but name him and paint him up differently than he is in the codex??

Any thoughts, and or Comments about this are very welcome, before I drop some moeny on this endevor.

Legally, there is nothing an opponent can do about your creativity except whine alot because your cooler than jesus.

I didn't think it would be an issue as long as I represented the wargear faithfully. I want a "Crisis-Wing" army and the best way to represent it I think is with Farsight. Him and 7 body guards, another commander and 2 deathrains! Rock on! I'll be posting my army list soon. It's a bit toy heavy I think, but we'll see.

Pretty much what HF. As long as its WYSIWYG and you explain it to your opponent, its game on.

Cool. Like I said, I love xv8's and Farsight is one of the better list for them. I have several suits painted up and rather than rebuy a bunch of stuff, I thought I'd just use them as they are and but a couple of suits to fill out my list. As far as farsight is concerned I have an old Ushabti that is willing to give up his weapon for the greater good. I was gonna model the blade as if it was strapped to his back. Or maybe, I'll try to modify a crisis suit so that it is holding the ushabti blad with two hands?? Who knows...we'll see how ambitious I get.
