aye, I built a few for the castle defence attacker's base on the old server, much the same style as that.

also finally got on the server today and built a home in the Dwarven city. Hopfully some other time I'll do a bit of work on the hall and then maybe with the elven tree if it hasn't nosedived.

yeah, sure I built my self an overly complicated one so that it looked awesome, although because of the space I'll have to show you the less expensive and cool but functional method
I'll even give you the resources, you'll only need 2 sticky pistons a button (or lever) and less than 8 redstone

I just made 64 stone picks!

So you've built secret tunnels and doors around your place, too? We should link them up with more secret tunnels!

to be fair, most of my passages aren't hidden, they're just more tunnels for ease of access to, say, the bottom of the ravine from that side of it, and most of the others are just free-running spots with ladders/raised areas so I can jump from one side of the ravine to the other without taking damage.

Just found a puddle of lava in the main dwarven hall. Not sure if greifer, or just accident?

I was exploring more of the abandoned mine earlier and ran into a ravine. I got killed by several cave spiders jumping on my head, went and picked up my stuff and died via more cave spiders and a skeleton, picked it up again and barred myself in. I tried to cover up the area they were coming from, but I couldn't place blocks that high. So I'm stuck right now :(

Accident. I missed a block when extending the lava column up. I didn't know if it would have dissapeared yet.

Nah, I managed to leg it out with my life, though the second time I died I was near a lava pool. In my inventory was some torches, random crap (string, gunpowder, bones etc.), a load of stone tools and an enchanted iron sword and pick. Two items went in the lava. Guess which two? The enchanted iron tools

wel that sucks, same thing happened to my pyro sword, except all my stuff got lava'd
and it didn't attack me, just pushed me into lava...

For the new Dwarves/Dwarfs/Dorfs.

But a note- please don't use any mined iron for tools- we're saving it up for either Fortuning (pre-smelt; not sure if that works, though) or for making into Iron Blocks/Bars. There's a Zombie grinder- use that for iron tools. Please.

You're free, of course, to use your own iron from other regions/homes, but please, we're trying to save the Dwarven iron.

I finally got around to taking down that giant tower on top of my Suburbia house.

Thanks Coolyo, at least ONE thing is done in that area. Now to find mah nice little ravine/mine

Indeed, especially for farms. From the outside it looks like a 3x3x3 cube, from the inside there's thousands of chickens crammed in order, sheep by colour, cows and pigs just where ever. All of them glitching through fences and some suffocating in walls.

Was more thinking for saving space so that we can have both style and substance.

Imagine having a cobblestone generator inside one of those portals, a farm inside another, a mob spawner inside another, etc. Things too large or impractical or even just stylistically wrong to fit in a normal home or even a full fledged castle.

Depends on the size of the cobble generator though, can get them to look somewhat nice. But, I think we were thinking similar things there. Hide the ugly crap away.

I accepted your challenge and have created something that looks nice, the shell is just adapted to your tastes.
