Take any advice for what it cost, and season it to how you actually play.
OT-I'm reading 60 storm troops actually.
1) Just to clarify-grenadiers can't drop in case you were thinking that.
2) Are you looking for more of a dropping list or an armored list?
Droppy:
If you desire more droppy options I’d shift to max out the ST’s units with drop. ST’s have the ability to mount 3 specials in a five man unit (2 specials + sergeant with P pistol). On an effectiveness basis the common build is to suggest min/maxed ST sizes.
-Personally I’d also put sub meltas in the JSO unit or into one of the ST squads. You’ve got plenty of plasma already.
-If you like grenadiers in your droppy list use allied inquisitor ST’s-they are as cheap, have the option of rhinos if you want, and can put a P fist on the sergeant.
I’d test around. You might find you’re really after a drop force in which case demo charges, special weapons squads, and a whole panapoly of options rears its ugly head.
Mechanized:
-If you’re running a more mechanized force you probably want to mount your grenadiers/allied STs. Chimeras are an option for true shooting. Rhinos are good if your tactic is to get the ST’s in fast and blast an errant enemy squad.
-Another option on the JSO side is four flamers. They are a beautiful and surprising counter assault unit.
-If you’re running mechanized your ST’s/JSO is now most likely
counterassault/objectives, with the Lemans and Hellhounds providing the bulk of the firepower. Else you may prefer short range mechanized firefights, in which case the SOB WANTS YOU (and you can still use the ST’s).
-Hellhounds. Excellent infantry killers. Didn’t appreciate them until I started armored company. At least one is definitely worth it in a mechanized formation although less so in a drop formation.
-Lemans. There is disagreement about the sponsons on Lemans so I’ll leave that argument.
Overall:
-You’re currently light on anti tank. That probably needs to be addressed either short range or long range.
-As noted your grenadiers are playing ground pounder unless you give them transport. They are purely short range at that point and you should playtest whether or not to give them transport or shift more towards dropping ST’s.
-There’s always the option of infiltrating hardened vets but I didn’t discuss that. If you like infiltration vets are a better option and I believe they come with it free.
