Ok- I versued 2 detachments of Khorne- and I lost. The demons that were summoned scattered 6 inches away from our lines, and the bloodthirster (thank god they only had one) was brought out early, and died after blowing up a demolisher.

Sometimes we get grouped against the worst possible opponents. I remember one tourny my speed freeks had to face 1 khorne player (foot slogging) and 1 mech Tau. Dead before turn 4 against the khorne (orks have issues when they only have a few more men than the marine player) and the tau got first turn...

Intersting list though. I like the idea of static tau. I would (abit after the fact though I guess) have dropped after broadsides to put afew more bodies on the table.

Orkses is never beated in battle. If we win we win, if we die we die so it don't count as beat. If we runs for it we don't die neither, so we can always come back for anuvver go, see!

I agree with Mef...drop a squad of broadsides and add more bodies to the blende....i mean, army list. you wouldnt go amiss with a unit of kroot. i would keep them as a semi-mobile reserve, mainly as a counter attacking unit. but more bodies, definitely, if you're going for a static tau army.

DISCLAIMER: any "tactics" i ramble on about are due because i suffer from the "i played against them before, i know how they work" school of thoght

while dropping a unit of broadsides does limit how many tanks you can kill, there is a simple solution. kit your commander out with a fusion blaster (i might be wrong on the name...am an eldar player), paint a kamikaze headband on him, and send him jumping around the sides/rears of tanks. now, im not exactly sure on the points on this, but it should be cheaper. any free points after kroot and the kamikaze shas'o should be spent on more firewarriors. pulse rifles are great for taking out infantry and light vehicles, and you dont have enough. you have 18 (so:18 shoot, 9 hit, 4-5 wound, 2-3 make saves, not a good return on the shooting). get more!

those are my thoughts!

what does the guard player have to bring to the table? that might help. i don't want to sound mean but your list seams stationary & most guard is ( i'm working on putting an IG army together myself hopefully one thats not so static), so maybe you need to be more mobile to offset & augment his strenghts , crisis, hammerheads & stealth. I know it sounds like i'm changing your whole list , but if your partner is just going to just sit there & shoot, someone has to take the realestate. also just a quick question how have those sniper teams worked for you? i haven't gotten them & was curios how effective they are to me they seam like sitting ducks.

That was my list before, and I still got eaten up as the bloodthirster consolidated into my hammerheads, then assalted my broadsides and crisis suits. Anyways, sniper drones rock. I eliminated an entire squad with them, and that's how the bloodthirster in this game popped out early. No one really wants to assult them, and the stealth field generator rules out shooting quite niceley. Sniper drones are worth the points, and are the last thing I will drop.

Maybe fusion piranhas in place of a broadside team?
