Subject: Chaos Dwarf list still kosher?

<!--StartFragment --> Hey there! Several years ago during early 6th Ed. I picked up some Chaos Dwarf models because I thought they had a ton of character, painted a few for fun, but never really got into Fantasy. Now I'm considering picking up enough to get a decent-sized force, as a way of learning Fantasy. I realize they're a terrible starting army in many ways, but I can't resist those hats. So, the big question: Is the 6th Ed. .pdf list still legal? If so, what's it's current status? Thanks, -Dave

In the back of the new rulebook are pages with the basic army stats for everyone. Chaos Dwarfs are included, with a little note saying they do not have an army book at this time, check the website. So yeah, they are still legal.
And I have the dubious pleasure of facing a CD army at my FLGS on a regular basis. They are not pushovers. And Magic-using dwarfs is just wrong on so many levels.

Cool, thanks! Yeah, I'm under the impression that Chaos Dwarves are crazy-strong-broken, but only if you mix in tough Dwarf units with lots of 2 point disposable Hobgoblins. Since those models are hard to find and expensive, there's little risk that I'll be doing that.

They're pretty crazy-strong-broken in any case (unless you intentionally make a weak list) but they are characterful and fun. I'd love to play against them. Once in a while.

I usually face a unit of 15 blunderbusses, two units of 20 warriors, a unit of 10 hobgob archers, 10 hobgob wolf riders, 8 or 10 bull centaurs, an Earthshaker, two or three hogob spear chukkas, and a couple of high-level mages. Occasionally some sneaky gits, since cheap troops with 2 poision attacks are a bargain. Not all that many hobgoblins, when you get down to it.
