Well, I played three games this week. One against a lizardman player which was my first time to ever play skaven. I should have beaten him too, but the orc in me overcame me and I charged foreward instead of sitting back and magicing him to death. This combined with some lousy rolling on the part of my plaguemonks, and the 6th turn flee of my storm vermin lost me the game.... which is unfortunate, because up until that point, even with my bad tactics I still had it won. The second game was against a bretonian player, who gave me first turn which I used to move foreward and kill 6 out of 9 knights with one warp lighting! But then we remembered that we might want to measure the distance and oh no! we were 25 inches apart instead of 24... my caution had just cost me from killing a third of his army with one spell. Follow that up with both my wizards killing themselves (not on miscasts, but on rolling 1's with either both dice on the warp lighting, or a 1 on both WL and the storm deamon), and him getting second turn charges which I, thinking like an orc, accepted and tried to combat it out with him, and it leads to skaven running away from horsies. One of his units charged both of my plaguemonks and clanrats, while two units charged my stormvermin. It was over very quickly. The third game was played against the same bretonian player. This time, I made sure that I moved up far enough to cast, killing 5 knights the first turn, 4 the second turn, fled with my clanrats so that the wizard could stay WLing him to death, not to mention him challenging my wizard, who declined, stepped to the back, and then left the unit in my turn.... and sufficient to say my wizards killed his entire army with warp lighting.... while the other skaven pulled down two or three knights.
