Hello all, This is a neat little Cities of Death game weI played this afternoon. Neither of us prepared our lists for COD in general, so it was somewhat impromptu. Enjoy. http://zombievisions.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the reports. They have all been easy to follow and the turn by turn pics help a lot. How do you all like the CoD? I've only been able to play a couple games of it, but have really enjoyed how different it plays than the more traditional 40K game.
2 Basilisks in 1000 points? Ouch.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

One thing I really like about COD is the victory conditions. In normal games, victory points mean that a player can hide his units when they get hurt and use big hard to kill units to prevent you from winning. In COD you need to take and hold buildings, and you've got to utterly kill every enemy in the building. This game was a draw because, try as I might, I just couldn't get those damn guardians out of the building. If the second horsy squad had made it in, then I would have likely gotten it. But woulda, coulda, shoulda, he held out = draw. The strategems are also a nice touch and can make some units rock hard. If he had played Medicae Facility on the Fortified building, the fortuned dark reapers would have been impossible to kill. It's nice, its a real change of pace.

Good report. My only thought for making it better would be to include more pictures containing a bird's-eye view of the battlefield, to give readers a better sense of the big picture.
I am glad that you didn't design that IG army with fighting the Eldar or playing a mission in mind, because it would be hard to come up with an army less suited to either task.
